Hi everyone, we are wanting to try to have a baby soon. I was wondering when people got their implant removed beforehand? Thank you!

I got my implant out yesterday and we are trying straight away, however i am not expecting to be successful this month as my cycle will be getting back to how it was pre implant and i dont know when i'll ovulate. We are trying dtd every other day and then when my period comes i will have more of an idea of my cycle and I can start using OPKs next month. My nurse said that some women do get very lucky and can become pregnant just weeks after removal so you do never know.

Thank you for the reply. Let me know how you get on! I was thinking of getting it out earlier to work out my cycle. I’ve had the implant for 7 years so it’s been a while!

I had my implant out and got pregnant about six months later.

@Nurse25 it definitely cant hurt to get it out sooner rather than later, especially if it takes your cycle longer than expected to settle down Smile

@Mummymumm how long did it take for your cycle to get back to normal after removal?

Mummymumm · 03/09/2019 12:02

It took a month to get back to normal. I'd had it in for two years previously.

I had my implant out on the 7th August got AF 26th August (first AF in 4 years)
Apps say ovulation is this weekend, so will see 😊 hoping TTC doesn't take ages 🤞

I had my implant out last day in December 2018, we waited until March to start TTC, so my cycles could get back to normal which they did pretty quickly. However, so far nothing. Starting acupuncture this cycle, so hoping that will kick start things. Everyone is so different, so it's really hard to predict how you'll be. Fingers crossed for you 😊

I had my implant out after 5 years and was pregnant 2 months later. I still had periods with it though so was easy to track ovulation

It varies from person to person. No harm taking out and just trying straight away but don’t expect anything for a few months and then if it happens earlier it will be a lovely surprise.
