Ovulation tests

Would you recommend using ovulation tests? I've never used them
before but just got my first AF since stopping the pill on 5th August and was wondering if it might be worth giving them a try to work our when I'm ovulating as I don't know my true cycle length yet? Was just looking for your experiences please.

Also, how do they work? Do you take them throughout your whole cycle or just over certain days?

I stopped my pill on 25th August and have been testing daily since then. I also have PCOS though so my periods are a nightmare. Haven't had once since I came off the pill though x
