This was first month trying and honestly thought we’d timed it wrong and had resigned myself to it not working this month.
Took a test Friday at only 7dpo and was obviously negative.
Went out yesterday and got very very drunk! Have also had a few other drinks in the last week.
Today I’ve felt sick and had heartburn and thought I was just hungover but have just done a test and there’s a faint positive line. Feel so bad about the drinking now! It was A LOT (open bar at a wedding).
Does anyone have any words of wisdom to make me feel better Sad haven’t even told DH yet lol he’s suffering too and not quite sure how to break the news yet!

It doesn't matter is you are so early on and it was just a couple if times. Don't worry about it Smile

Oh and congrats Flowers

It’s fine, the umbilical cord hasn’t even formed yet to pass nutrients from you to baby. Congratulations!

Thank you! Now to break the news to a fragile DH Grin

I don't think it matters at this stage. I got massively hammered at around 4 weeks pregnant (I didn't know obviously) and now have a beautiful 8yo DD. She's quirky but seems unharmed by her mother's indulgences.

Yep what they said above, nothing has even formed yet to pass the alcohol on to the baby. I think they survive off the yolk sac until about week 8. Maybe! I'm 25 weeks now and can't remember that far back 😂 it soon flies!

Congrats x

A friend of mine took ecstasy before she knew she was pregnant. Baby is now a strapping 10 year old. A few drinks is not going to do any harm at all. Congratulations!

Don't worry. You can't stop living your life and doing things you enjoy before you know for sure you're pregnant so don't feel bad. I had a night out in one of my pregnancies and drank heavily a couple of days before I found out. I never touched another drop for the rest of the pregnancy and everything was ok.

Silenceissilver · 01/09/2019 18:58

You’re crazy insanely early to be worried about that.
Think of all the women who find out they’re PG at 2/3/4 months along. Think how many of them smoke/drink/party and go on to have healthy babies

Curlyeyelash · 02/09/2019 19:32

I found out at 3 months pregnant. I was smoking cigarettes and going out regularly with friends drinking. I even spent several days during the summer sitting on the beach with mates steadily drinking. Stopped as soon as I found out, later in my pregnancy I did occasionally have a small glass of Guinness. Daughter is doing amazingly, got 10/10 after birth on the apgar scoring and is very advanced for her age. It's definitely worth being concerned about but yes, do remember that in the say 20s or 30s women drank and smoked during pregnancy as we didn't have the knowledge we have now, and those women went on to have healthy babies.

Also as a previous poster said at this stage your baby isn't even attached to the uterine wall yet. So don't fret.

Congratulations.

Congratulations!

I found out at 5 weeks and had been heavily drinking right up to the day before for a few weeks (on holiday). Doctor wasn't concerned in the slightest.

I accidentally got pregnant on honeymoon - was piddled out of my face for two solid weeks - my 3 year old is fine!
