Ovulation tests. Please help!

Hi all,

I recently purchased some ovulation tests to try and better track my fertile days.
My periods have been CRAZY for months now, with my cycles ranging from 73 days, to 58 days, to 32 days and everywhere in between!

I took my first ovulation test strip today, and I’m not sure if it’s positive or negative!
The examples show a faint line for negative, a more obvious one for positive and a blatant positive line.

I’m not sure if mine is a faint negative or faint positive, so it’d be great if someone could have a look and give me your opinions!

Thanks 🙂

Hi @Breannabruce your test is negative. It's only positive when the test line is the same colour or darker (bolder) than the control line. I got my positive yesterday and have attached it for you for reference.

If you download the premom app then you can upload photos of your tests on there and it will tell you whether they are low, high or peak x

@Each2TheirOwn thank you so much! I’ve never used the ovulation strips before, so I just wanted to be sure 🙂
Thank you xx

No problem at all! I haven't been using them long myself and the apps really help 😊 x

@Each2TheirOwn I’ve uploaded on that premom app as you suggested and it says “high 0.94”
What does that mean? Haha it’s so confusing!

If you are getting a high reading then you should (in theory) get your peak in the next day or two. Once you get your peak reading you will/should ovulate 12-36 hours later. However, I sometimes get the odd high reading early in my cycle and then it goes back to being low again (so annoying)! Best thing to do is test twice a day - late morning/early afternoon and then again around 7pm. Sometimes you can get a short LH surge so best to test regularly to ensure you don't miss it x

One other thing... check/take a photo of your test 10 minutes after doing it. If you wait too long then the line can appear darker than it really is due to the dye drying x
