Hi all,

So I am 11DPO and first time TTC; first cycle too.

Took a cheap freedom strip test from tesco's this morning on my lunch break on the off chance and this was the result?? looks like a faint positive to me?? HOWEVER.... on reading reviews online freedom tests appear to give false positives which is the actual fear !!

anybody able to shed some light??

I am in the same boat!! I've been taking these all week and feel like I've had a false positive or indent/evap lines. Maybe take a FRER or other brand? If not just get a docs appointment xx

WhoArtinHeaven · 29/08/2019 15:20

I can't help with reliability of these tests as they were only eve stark negative for me.
But I'd take a First Response tomorrow morning. I wouldn't personally call that a particularly "faint" line TBH, and it's considerably more than a squinter.
If it's not a dodgy test then you should see a line on a FRER tomorrow morning.
Good luck!

TTC1993 · 29/08/2019 15:40

thanks for replying ladies:)

Gonna stop and buy a FRER on the way home and chance it I feel like i'm going crazy at work until I finish at 4pm! xx

What was the result on your FRER?

TTC1993 · 29/08/2019 20:08

That's a negative FRER.

Mooey89 · 29/08/2019 20:17

Can you post the original?

TTC1993 · 29/08/2019 20:20

It says i can only upload so many pictures per day which is strange as I've only posted two pics xx

OP posts:
TTC1993 · 29/08/2019 20:22

@CmdrCressidaDuck for sure?? In real life there is a faint line, but camera isn't picking it up... thats why i put it on that app to change the lightening of it. Is it just me or can't you see the faint line? i appreciate any honesty I just really see it and now im thinking im bonkers 😳

Mooey89 · 29/08/2019 20:28

I can slightly see it in the tweaked pic. Wait a couple of days. I know it’s hard x

CmdrCressidaDuck · 29/08/2019 20:32

If you have to take a close-up picture and then invert it and stare really hard, it's negative.

There is always a faint colourless line visible on a FRER if you look closely. That is the indent line where dye sits if there is a positive. The whole point of inverting is that if there is any colour there, the line will glow clearly on the invert.

TTC1993 · 29/08/2019 20:32

@Mooey89 i swear I am not one of those delusional people 😂 In real life it legit is there but so faint though. I will take another FRER with fmu tomorrow and if no different I will hold of till after AF is due on Monday 🤞🏽❤️ thank you for replying xx

Did u end up pregnant x

TTCBABYNO2xx · 27/02/2022 20:44

Yes! Back on here TTC baby no 2 but yes this was positive in the end and my 20 month old is tucked up in bed 🥰

Jen0019 · 28/08/2022 07:33

@TTCBABYNO2xx sorry I know this is an older thread, I’m around 5 weeks pregnant and did a freedom pregnancy test. There’s a line and I’m clearly pregnant but it’s not very dark. I just wondered if you ever got darker lines on these tests? Just a bit worried it’s a sign I might miscarry.

TTCBABYNO2xx · 28/08/2022 08:31

@Jen0019 hey lovely. Sorry i never used them again to see if they got darker i just went straight to using a frer. Congratulations xx

EmmaW96 · 14/02/2023 08:56

@Jen0019 Hey, how did this turn out for you? I have had the exact same situation this morning. I had 6 positives since last week so know I am pregnant but when taking a Freedom test this morning it was the faintest line I've had yet. Don't know if they're dodgy or to be worried!

Hi!
I used a freedom test in 2019 when I was pregnant with my son
I read how they can be notorious!
So I eventually tested using a clear blue and it was positive too
Try a different brand for peace of mind

April088 · 10/09/2023 11:39

Hi, I know this is an old thread and I hope it all turned out okay for you x
Just wanted to say the exact thing happened to me this morning. Have had 3 BFP tests the last few days and then used a freedom strip (twice) and both lines were so faint. Just miscarried last month so it put me in a panic. BUT, I had some clear blue tests on hand as well and they were BFP! All the tests were using the same urine (I peed into a cup) so I'm thinking Freedom test strips are really just not that great...

Jen0019 · 10/09/2023 15:02

I definitely don’t think Freedom are great. It turned out fine for me and I’m currently sat playing with my almost 5 month old daughter :) in the end I stuck to first response for reassurance xx
