Boobs stopped being sore after ovulation...not pregnant?

Hi all,
My boobs have been sore since ovulation (about a week ago) but this morning I woke up and they are no longer sore. Would this mean I'm not pregnant? I thought they would stay sore due to progesterone so presuming I'm not now as they've stopped 😢
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences please x

Didn't want to read & run but I'm afraid I have no advice, mine weren't sore at at any time during pregnancy.
Try not to overthink it, wait it out & take a test!

Beatrice900 · 28/08/2019 12:10

Thank you. I know, it's just silly but can't stop thinking about it and analysing everything!

Hi @Beatrice900,

I read that sore boobs is a sign of ovulation. I would say try not to overanalyse but, I did the exact same every month when TTC and roamed every forum I could find for answers so, I understand. It's hard to be patient but, like Tabbycat said, the only way to find out is to wait it out and test.

P.S. I had no symptoms whatsoever for the first month or so, apart from a slightly wider behind!

Good luck xx

Ovulation can make your boobs sore. Just because they've stopped hurting now doesn't mean you're not pregnant though, I had no symptoms until I was 5 weeks pregnant. The only thing you can do is wait.

Good luck! My fingers are crossed for you x

flissity · 28/08/2019 15:19

Hi, you only actually get pregnancy symptoms (due to hcg) when the egg has been implanted (6-12DPO)

premom.com/blogs/hormone-tracking/the-hormonal-relationship-between-lh-pdg-and-hcg

This link explains really well (with graphs) how the hormones change if you are pregnant or not

Best of luck/ I’m on cycle 3 it messes with your head!!!

My boobs didn't really get sore until just before my BFP thankfully they died down after about 10 weeks because they really hurt!

Beatrice900 · 28/08/2019 15:48

Thanks all. I'm sure the soreness was due to ovulation (it normally is) but just wondered if they stop hurting if that means the progesterone levels have dropped and therefore I'm not pregnant or if that's not necessarily how it works. Obviously the best way to tell Is to wait a few days but I'm struggling!
Thanks for all your comments, much appreciated x

Did you ever get a BFP? My boobs also hurt after ovulation and get less tender leading up to AF .

@Slk3558 I’m in a similar boat. I don’t have sore boobs at all and wondering if this means that there’s no chance for a BFP? Let me know if you find out anything? Xx

Slk3558 · 21/11/2020 18:12

Will do I’m 9 dpo today not entirely sure when AF is due but last month had 26 day cycle (recently came off the pill). So should be expecting AF Monday or maybe a few days after. Have you had sore boobs at all since ovulation or just none at all? Some people don’t get it at all. I’ve had sore boobs from ovulation to just before AF for last 3 cycles since stopping pill.

WicketBasket · 21/11/2020 18:23

Thanks @Slk3558 Smile It’s annoying when you’re not quite sure about AF! I’m in the same boat as I have irregular ish periods so never quite sure what’s going on Grin
Ooh I think you’re pretty close to testing though so I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!
I never get sore boobs- not even during AF and I’ve never had them post ovulation or anything (and still don’t have them), which makes me think I’m out for another month! Booo!! 😂 xxx

Slk3558 · 21/11/2020 18:39

No from what I’ve read some people don’t get sore boobs at all until after they got their BFP it just depends on your body. I tested like a mad woman last 2 months being so new to TTC and can’t take anymore negatives so just waiting for AF to come as agonizing as it is waiting and not knowing!!

Slk3558 · 21/11/2020 18:41

It could be that your body had a high sensitivity threshold to progesterone and it would need to reach a certain level to make your boobs sore ..hence why some people get it around 8 weeks when progesterone levels are really high. That’s just my theory though!

WicketBasket · 21/11/2020 19:12

Awww @Slk3558 thank you so much for your words of encouragement! ☺️ it’s really nice to hear things like this as it can be such a lonely, deflating time when you’re trying to symptom spot and compare with others.

Completely agree with you with regards to too much testing. I’ve spent so much time and money on tests and I just end up in a grumpy mood. I’m wishing you all the best! Hoping your BFP is right around the corner Flowers
Let me know when you test? Xx

Slk3558 · 21/11/2020 19:35

I will do. Xx

Toastedsesame · 21/11/2020 20:53

Interested in this thread! I usually get sore boobs around ovulation and then they stay sore until I get my AF, that is basically half my cycle.

This time (1st month ttc) they have not really been sore apart from around ovulation. It is making me wonder if I have conceived as its different for me!

WicketBasket · 21/11/2020 21:21

Ooh sounds promising @Toastedsesame Grin
I always try and spot if there is anything different for me but alas I have no sore boobs ever 😂 When are you testing? Xx

Slk3558 · 21/11/2020 21:23

It’s possible as they say anything unusual is normally a good sign...let us know if you get your BFP:) where you on the pill before ?

Toastedsesame · 21/11/2020 21:49

@Slk3558 no, we've always used natural cycles method, its really obvious for me when I'm ovulating so that was kind of handy.

I've tested a few times but all bfn so far. My AF is due tomorrow.

Slk3558 · 21/11/2020 22:14

All the best hope you get your BFP first time round . let us know how you get on!!

Slk3558 · 23/11/2020 10:58

@Toastedsesame and @WicketBasket temp dropped yesterday and this morning, boobs stopped feeling tender yesterday and AF arrived this morning! So there’s definitely a link there for me. But if you don’t get sore boobs at all i would say that’s more normal. After doing quite a bit of research I’m thinking I have a vitamin B deficiency due to being on the pill for 9 years and my leutal phase was 10 days this month and very light flow today. So I’ve ordered some vitamin b complex from Holland and barret.

WicketBasket · 23/11/2020 11:12

Aww @Slk3558 sorry to hear about AF turning up! What a miserable little witch she is :D but don't let her stop you! Be kind to yourself, treat yourself and get yourself ready to knock her out next round (I don't why I've come up with this boxing analogy all of a sudden haha)

Sounds like you've done some good research and you've got a plan of action! I've heard really good things about B vitamins and I know a lot of people who have had success in lengthening their luteal phase with them, so best of luck to you hun.

And thank you for reassuring me re:sore boobs. I've still got no symptoms at all except for my usual pre AF cramps so feeling a bit low but hey ho. Gotta keep going eh? xxx

acaciabluebell · 23/11/2020 11:15

I'm also the same. Some months my boobs hurt immediately from 1dpo, some months my boobs don't hurt until just before AF!!! So frustrating how inconsistent it is lol
