5th time lucky? Trying to conceive baby 1

Soooo. Here goes! We are about to start the journey of trying for baby no1 AGAIN. 5th time lucky?

We have had 3 miscarriage and 1 ectopic pregnancy.

We are now going to see Dr Sheata next week, in his private clinic in Epsom. Feeling incredibly nervous as we are hoping he will be able to help us.

It feels as if we have everything on our side, apart from these " unlucky" misscarriages.

We are young ( in early twenty's), don't smoke, drink very very rarely, and both do moderate level of activity.

We have started to take pregnacare conception. Can anyone else advise anything else we could do to boost our chances of a successful pregnancy next time?

Sorry to hear about your previous losses.

The only other thing I can think of is to cut out caffeine (tea, coffee, fizzy drinks, chocolate, etc.). However, after 3 miscarriages you may be low on progesterone or other hormones. Your doctor will be able to tests for this and prescribe the necessary if that is the case.

Wishing you the best of luck for your next pregnancy 🤞🏼 x

@Each2TheirOwn

Thank you, trying really hard to do this, only really drink tea and we have changed that to decaf.

I mean I defo could cut down in the chocolate!!

I tried progesterone to with my last pregnancy:( had all the blood tests you can think of and everything keeps coming back normal! Hence why we are going private now! Hoping they can provide different tests! Thank you very much GrinSmile

@sistaaa sounds like you are doing everything you possibly can so I really hope that your next pregnancy is a sticky one 🤞🏼 I'm sure your private doctor will be able to get to the bottom of things x

We are off to the Epsom clinic in October feels like a fecking age away!!

We are going through the nhs though! So i suppose the wait makes sense! I asked to be referred after my latest loss earlier in the year.

We have had 5 mc and 1 pregnancy resulting in a child Shock fx to you xx

sistaaa · 27/08/2019 17:09

@cookielove hi!!

Ahh how on earth do our bodies work, did you do anything differently with the successful pregnancy? What order if you don't mind did the misscarriages come and normal pregnancy?

We have gone privately, we honestly could not bare the wait!!

I have a feeling it's going to certainly cost us though :( we have been referred to st Mary's through nhs, so I think we will possibly get two different experiences. ! Hopefully I'll be in a successful pregnancy by then! But who knows xx

My first loss was a mmc with lots of genetic issues, we conceived ds5 within 4 months and the pregnancy was smooth sailing with no issues!
