Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I sadly was told that my baby had no heartbeat on my 30th birthday back on the 12th of August. On this day I opted for medical management and passed the baby pretty quickly. I bled for a total of 6 days. I did a pregnancy test yesterday and the line was very light, almost not visible. This has been a very upsetting time for me especially to have got so close to 12 weeks. This was my second miscarriage, the first being back in feb this year at 5 weeks. Can you please help to advise when you think my period will come back and when I will ovulate? The doctors say 4-6 weeks but I don’t know if that means from the point of the bleeding stopping or the other way round. Can your body begin to steer the process of an egg maturing whilst you have low levels of hcg in your body? Thanks xx

So sorry you have been through this. I know exactly how you are feeling having had 2 mc myself this year. Of course everybody is different but after my mmc in April at just before 12 weeks my period returned 6 weeks after the actual loss. Then the next cycle was 28 days then 24 days which is pretty much my norm , so everything went back to normal pretty quickly. I'm now 5 weeks pg again! Hope that gives you some positivity xx

@Lozboz22 thank you so much for responding. I’m sorry to hear you had losses too altho I’m glad to hear that you have caught again. Can I ask how you coped with the second one? And were used consecutive? I don’t have any children and my loss was so devastating as we saw the baby moving about with a heart beat s few days before. I’ve had some pink spotting and negative test today so I’m hoping I will either be on the way to ovulating or will do in 2 weeks. When you say 6 weeks from the actual loss does this go to when you first started bleeding? Thank you again for letting me read your experience and all the best for this pregnancy. I’m not scared about catching just if things will last xxx

@Claire78564 I think I coped with the second better than the first as I just didn't expect it with the first. Even though the second was traumatic physically as even though I knew it was coming it happened dramatically first thing in the morning at home and we ended up having to call an ambulance due to excessive blood loss. After that I wasn't sure about trying again , I already have 1 dd who is 5 and I'm nearly 39, but here I am again! When I say 6 weeks from actual loss I mean from the day of the physical loss. Yes my mc were consecutive. I caught straight after the one in Jan without a period in between. I know what you mean about scared things won't last, I'm going to spend the next 7 weeks (hopefully) on edge and I know I'll be petrified going into a 12 week scan . I can't even bring myself to calculate due date as I don't want to know if things go wrong.
Make sure you give yourself time to heal physically and emotionally xxx

Thank you for your response @lozboz22 it sounds like you had a very traumatic time. I’m glad to hear that you have a daughter so that must be some comfort at least that your body can go full term. I just keep remembering that they tell you each pregnancy is different. It sounds like you are very fertile and I have good feelings about this for you. With mine the first was completely unexpected as I had what i Thought was a period then 2 weeks later a bleed which led me to do a test then told it was a miscarriage. It took me 3 months to catch first time. Second time took 4 times and i felt better about it because we got further along. I worry that I won’t be able to go full term. They don’t do any tests until three and despite being told my parts look to be in good working order, we have decided to get some private tests for peace of mind. Hopeful that I will catch again soon. I feel for you about the next 7 weeks but you got through 5 (4 without knowing I presume) you will get there. Sending hugs x
