Length of Luteal Phase?

Hi Everyone,

This is my second month of TTC first baby and everything is very new to me! Last month I had a chemical pregnancy and am slightly worried that it was down to the length of my luteal phase. I have a 24 day cycle and have been using clearblue digital OPK this month (didn’t test last month so not sure when I actually ovulated). I got my first smiley this afternoon (blank circle this morning) and if I’m right in thinking, I will ovulate in 24-36 hours after meaning my luteal phase is only about 10 days. Is this a concern? Should I do anything differently?

Felt so calm about everything until the CP and now I just can’t help but think it’s going to keep happening because of this 😔

You had a blank circle this morning and a static smiley this afternoon? Are you sure it wasn’t a flashing smiley? It’s not until you get the static smiley that it means you’re about to ovulate.

@twinklestars15 i don’t have the advanced one, just the regular and the only options are blank circle or static (I think)!

Hey @Cake2
Try not to worry about your luteal phase -mine have been anything from 9-11 days (more often 9 than 11) and i am currently 5 weeks pregnant so it can happen! I was very anxious about it but that doesn't do anyone any favours so I'd say try to relax!
Also luteal phase stays pretty stable month by month. So if you ovulate late, it's just more likely your cycle is longer that month with the same length luteal phase as always, as opposed to having a short luteal phase to fit your normal cycle length.
Fx for you

Wait and see what length your luteal length is this cycle - perhaps it'll be longer this month?

@Greenwhale congratulations! That is very exciting for you! Nice to hear the positive stories 😊

@Skyla01 you might be right.. as it hasn’t been long and got off to a disappointing start.. I don’t really know what my normal is yet.

It’s funny because I had no idea what a minefield TTC was before. I didn’t even know what the luteal phase was until a few weeks ago! I also had no idea what some women go through until reading some threads on here.

DH says ‘what will be will be’ which I know is true but tricky to believe when you’re in the midst of it all.
