My TTC ‘Tool Kit’ !!

I've thrown everything at this cycle and hoping for a OPK+ and then a HPT+ ASAP!! ;)

My supplements:

  • Pre-Conception Vits,
  • Omega 3 Extra Strength,
  • Evening Primrose Oil,
  • Chromium,
  • Magnesium,
  • Zinc,
  • Vit C,
  • B-50 Complex,
  • Vitex (Agnus Castus/Chaste Berry) - 2x 400mg tabs a day,
  • Myo-Inositol (2 overflowing scoops, 3x a day),
  • Red Clover Tea - 1-3 cups a day, only up to Ov.
  • Raspberry Leaf Tea - 2-3 cups a day, only up to Ov.
  • Nettle Tea - lots!
  • Dandelion Tea - lots!

I didn't ovulate last cycle, so i'm hoping all these supplements help boost my fertility and balance out my hormones effectively, whilst nourishing my uterus etc. I was already taking 6 of them prior to TTC, so whilst being a hefty list of supps, i dont mind throwing everything at it for a couple of cycles to see if it helps. If nothing else, id imagine it will help nourish my eggs and make me feel a little healthier.

Im currently on CD15. No Ov yet, but last cycle was 33 days so i still have time (fingers crossed). My OPK was a little darker this morning than it has been before, so im hoping things are picking up for ovulation soon.

I'm following the SMEP (Sperm Meets Egg Plan) - using Ovia, Femometer and Fertility Friend apps, Charting BBT with 'Femometer' (highly recommended bit of kit!), tracking moods, symptoms and CM (ive never had EWCM, only watery so far) and using the cheap One Step Ovulation Strips from Amazon (50 pack for just over £8, so im able to test 2-3 times a day to ensure I don't miss my surge …. and because Im impatient! haha).

When we DTD we favour doggy position to ensure deep penetration so hopefully the sperm are deposited closer to the cervix. I stick my legs and bum up in the air for a few minutes after BDing, and try to orgasm after my partner as the contractions can help, apparently (and who am I to argue?! hahaha).

We are also using PreSeed lubricant. Its not needed, but I figure why the hell not throw that into the mix too!!! LOL

So... fingers crossed I have some good news to share in the next 3 months or so (hopefully sooner!). I know, I know... IMPATIENT!!!! Hahaha

Id love to make some buddies here so please don't hesitate to connect! Good luck lovely, ladies! We can do this!!! xxxxxxxxx

I was a throw everything at it TTCer too!

I basically did everything you're doing but also the following the month I got my BFP (cycle 12)

Ubiquinol & Royal Jelly for egg health
SoftCups to keep the sperm by my cervix
Castor Oil packs & Serrapeptase to reduce any scar tissue in the uterus
Baby aspirin after ovulation to improve blood flow and aid implantation
Soy Isoflavones to promote ovulation (CD2-6)
Bromelian after ovulation to aid implantation (the active ingredient in pineapple because I'm allergic to the actual fruit)

Good luck!

MrsMc2019 · 25/08/2019 18:45

We're both taking his & hers pregnacare conception and using baby start lubricant.

I'm also using Femometer to track BBT; cheap OPKs in the run up and beginning of my fertile week then switching to digital OPKs to pinpoint ovulation.

Plus I have a glass of grapefruit juice each day x

coconuttymummy · 26/08/2019 09:30

@polkadotpixie The serrapeptase sounds very interesting! Congrats on your BFP. XXX

CD 19 - Cycle 2........
HOORAY! Grin I got my 1st +OPK this morning! I am ovulating! Woooohoooooo! Grin

It’s weird how I had 2 days of high readings, then yesterday was low all day, so I thought I’d missed ovulating, and then today it’s Peak. I figured LH would gradually rise up until Ov, but mine dipped for a day. Is this something to be concerned about?

MrsMc2019 · 26/08/2019 13:23

Thank you @coconuttymummy I'm currently CD20/5DPO. I'm always a 28 days cycle and since I've been using the digital I've noticed I seem to ovulate around CD14. I'm not too hopeful this month as I get married in three and a half weeks so my stress levels are higher than normal.

How are you getting on with your tool kit? x

coconuttymummy · 27/08/2019 09:38

@MrsMc2019 It’s brilliant that you have regular cycles and know when you ovulate. You’re half way there! One sticky bean and it’s MummyMrsMc! I’ll bet you have your beautiful BFP before the year’s over! 😙
And congrats on your upcoming marriage. I know it’s super stressful organising a wedding but enjoy it as much as you can. At its core, it’s about you and your OH declaring your love and loyalty to each other, all the fineries are just added extras, so hold that in your mind and love every minute! I hope you have a truly blessed marriage, lovely lady. 😘

@MrsMc2019

Well, I got my Peak OPK+ yesterday. Yay! At least I know im ovulating! That's a relief! Grin So I ovd on CD 19 this cycle.

The only thing im a bit concerned about is my BBT. My temps haven't gone up yet. In fact, this morning I had a significant drop in temperature. I'll do a bit of googling to find out if you get a dip before the temp increase when you ovulate.

My OPK reading is back down to low/negative today, so yesterday had to be my surge.

Thankfully, we've DTD the last 5 out of 6 days, about 7 times in total, and twice yesterday, so..... im really keeping my fingers crossed for a glorious BFP!! I know I shouldn't get my hopes up this early into our journey (cycle #2), but you cant help it can you?! Blush

coconuttymummy · 27/08/2019 13:11

@MrsMc2019 Oooh! I just googled it and you are meant to get a temperature dip around ovulation and then BBTs rise and are sustained at a higher temp afterwards. Phew! Another relief! Things are looking more positive! xxx

Well... I just couldn't help myself! -

Ive ordered some Berberine capsules from Amazon which should arrive tomorrow, to hopefully encourage implantation (its the active ingredient in pineapple core).

I stopped taking the EPO, Red Clover and Raspberry Leaf Tea today (CD19) - ovulation day. x

coconuttymummy · 29/08/2019 08:25

CD20.... I’m relieved for another good sign that I’m ovulating properly this cycle: my BBT temps have risen significantly for the last 2 days after a sharp drop on CD 19 (the day after I got my OPK+). That’s put my mind at rest about last cycle’s anovulation.

I’d love to see a nice implantation dip on my chart next week! Wink xxx

@coconuttymummy you must be so relieved to know you've ovulated.

I'm currently 9dpo and due AF on the 4th - usually by now my pre AF symptoms have kicked in (cramps and sore boobs) but I'm getting nothing this month except having to urinate at least once and hour (it usually goes on until 11pm and wakes me around 4am) this has been going on since Monday and is driving me mad as I don't have any other symptoms to make me think I'm pregnant 🤷🏻‍♀️

coconuttymummy · 30/08/2019 15:25

I was super concerned about my BBT temps this morning. At 3DPO I’ve had a massive temperature dip, below cover line.

OK, so, after some frenzied research, it appears that around 2DPO-5DPO you can get something called a “Corpus Luteum Dip”. The Corpus Luteum takes over and you can get a hormone surge because of this. Apparently it can happen again between 6-9DPO... and then you have the possibility of another BBT dip at implantation.

I’m a little less concerned, now, but hoping for a 3 day sustained temp spike to confirm Ov and sufficient Progesterone. X

Are you taking your temperature at the same time each day? The open circles suggest not and you won't get an accurate chart if not

coconuttymummy · 31/08/2019 15:07

@polkadotpixie To be honest, my temping time can vary up to an hour, as it's still the school holidays so I don't have a regular getting-up time. From next week i'll wake up at the same time each day.

OP posts:
coconuttymummy · 31/08/2019 15:11

CD23 / 4DPO - My BBT rose this morning a teeny bit, but it's still way lower than it should be post-ovulation. I'm really hoping for a good BBT spike tomorrow morning, otherwise i'll be seriously concerned about possible progesterone deficiency/anovulation. Sad Confused xxx

Just started my TTC journey and I'm on alot of supplements you are. However, Ive been wanting to try Myo-Inositol and can't find it anywhere!! X

coconuttymummy · 31/08/2019 15:22

@hayley94 I got mine from Amazon. xx

coconuttymummy · 01/09/2019 11:27

Well, it’s not looking good for me, again, this cycle Sad

I got my OPK+ CD18 and thought I’d ovulated late at night on CD18 or CD19. I had the ovulation dip and then my temp shot up for 2 days, but I’ve had really low BBTs for the past 3 days.

I’m gutted tbh. Looks like another anovulatory cycle. I’m really worried that I’m not ovulating.

Has anyone seen a chart like this? It’s a total mess! Confused

Hi @coconuttymummy just checking in to see how you are? x

coconuttymummy · 05/09/2019 14:05

@MrsMc2019 Hi, there. Well, I definitely didn’t ovulate again this cycle as my temps never went up.

I’m dropping the Vitex and trying Soy Isoflavones next cycle.

How are you doing? Xxxxx
