Ava vs BBT

Hi everyone. I'm 34 TTC my first child and throwing everything at it. I bought an Ava bracelet and have been BBT and find that the two never match up.

I record CM and use opks but Ava is always 2 days after all the other ovulation indicators.

I just wanted to know what everyone else's experience was with the two. Did any of you have this or have you found Ava really accurate? I'm doing the BD based more on BBT.

I have an AVA bracelet too. I’m on my second cycle with it so far and am as yet underwhelmed. I can’t really understand what it’s telling me. Last month it gave me a message saying it hadn’t detected signs of ovulation. This month, I got a positive OPK on the 21st but it predicted the 17th and didn’t change at all during the month.

I’m following my OPK and using the app to record information. I still wear the AVA and hope that it will suddenly start making sense. I’m going for the SMEP method as I’ve been TTC since December.

@BeingATwatItsABingThing I know what you mean. I totally have very little idea what it's trying to show. I've found that my skin temperature has changed with the weather. Have you noticed this at all?

I've read that it takes up to 3 month to figure you out so I'm going to give a few more months before cashing it in for an ovusense.

I'm also doing SMEP actually but because of the two ovulation dates I've got from Ava and from temping I've ended up doing continuous days for a longer period. How have you found it?

I honestly can’t make sense of the data. I’ve attached a screenshot for you to compare with yours. The top three started to increase from the day I got my OPK+ but that was days after I was supposed to have ovulated according to AVA.

I only started SMEP this month because I hadn’t heard of it before but it’s been ok. Tiring but ok. I’m keeping everything crossed that it’s worked for me. Because of my late LH surge, I don’t think AVA has correctly predicted AF so I’m not really sure when to start testing. I use FRER so I might start from the 1st if AF hasn’t appeared.

@BeingATwatItsABingThing yeah it's tough. Did you temp as well? I'm still figuring it out as well. Last month my temps on Ava and oral were very different too so I'm just trying to give it time to see which is more accurate. I've posted my chart too and also my bbt oral chart to compare. Like today Ava said my temp rose but oral temp says it fell so 🤷🏽‍♀️

I also heard someone on the Ava forum say the biphasic pattern thing means nothing so that's encouraging.

How long have you been ttc? I'm on cycle 4 so it's still early days but every negative is still so disheartening

This is cycle 9 more me. I had an EMC in January after conceiving in cycle 1. Compared to some, I’m very early in my TTC journey but every negative test breaks my heart more. Especially as DD(5)keeps asking for a sibling.

I’m not temping orally but might start if this month is negative.
