Period 4 days late but BFN

Hello,
I am a long time watcher but this is my first time posting.
We have been TTC since about January, although we have not ‘tried’ at the right time every month, so am not sure every cycle counts! (I have not been able to get a positive OPK each month, but am also not super strict about using them every day so assume I am just missing it some months)
I have pretty regular cycles of 26-29 days but this month my period is uncharacteristically 4 days late. I have taken 2 FRER tests, one on the day of my period and one 2 days later, both definitely negative. I have had cramps and back ache and generally felt like my period was coming for about 2 weeks (since around a week after the time my apps think I could have ovulated) but absolutely no sign of it.

In short, is it normal to just sometimes not have a period? Or, as it’s the first time it has happened to me, should I go to the doctor and check there is nothing wrong with me?

Sorry if this is a really daft question!

Hmmm. Could you have ovulated late this cycle? Are you under any stress?

I do know some people don’t get a positive text until around a week after their period is late. Maybe give it another day or two?

Thought I would join as I'm in the same boat as you @Shoegal03

Like you I have very regular cycles 26-29days. I did the deed many times during fertile window and ovulation day, which fell on the 4th August.

I've tested at 15dpo, 16dpo, 17dpo (today) all BFN. My period is 3days late which never happens.
I'll test again in a couple days. I'm really praying for a BFP.

Thank you so much for replying! I have been under a bit of stress for the last few months for various reasons, so yes that could be likely! I must do those OPKs more regularly next month.

@Mally87 ah glad to know I am not the only one! It is really frustrating isn’t it.. Have you felt any different? I’m now 5 days late and still no sign of it, just the same bad stomach/back ache I’ve had for the last few weeks which make me think my period has to arrive at some point. It sounds like you did all the right things at the right times so keeping everything crossed for you. I read Xx

@Shoegal03 yep...very frustrating.
Only differences I've felt this month are:

4dpo - 13dpo - been very gassy

5dpo - stuffy runny nose which lasted a few days

6dpo - I had very bad lower backache which eventually wore off.

13dpo - sore side boobs which I thought was a sign of AF coming. They're still quite tender to touch.

Tomorrow I'll be 4days late and 18dpo, but I don't think I'll test again until 20dpo

You more than likely ovulated late this cycle. I couldn't get on with OPKS so just did BBT. Bang on every time, knew when my period was due and was happier to see AF than a negative test and have the stress on wondering if I will ever get a BFP.

Hi everyone I'm now 2days late and got a bfn yesterday but I did the test late afternoon. I have also been gassy, have pretty bad lower back pain and my boobs are getting fuller, tender and nipples are bumpy.

I'm waiting for the chemist to open to get a test. Any update? Fx for us!

I’m in a similar position too! I typically have a 28-29 day cycle but OPKs told me I didn’t ovulate until CD24 and I’m now 12DPO. AF due day after tomorrow. Bloated and gassy but no other symptoms which is unusual too. Glad I used the OPK though, otherwise I’d be thinking I’m over a week late already xx

Hey! Yes I used OPK also and got a positive on 12 August. I have a 12 day Luteral phase so I'm well over🙈 it's so blooming annoying!

Well I just did another test and it was negative! Still no sign of af and my boobs are still tender and a bit fuller along with bad lower back.
I'm going to test every morning until I get my bfp or af shows up.

I haven't tested since I was 2 days late( Sunday) I am going to wait till Friday( I'll be a week late then) to test again but I really don't think I'm pregnant- I just have no symptoms!
