TTC Baby number 1 - Looking for buddies

Hi Ladies 🙋,

I'm new to the forum so thought I'd look for some TTC buddies.
I'm 30 and TTC baby number 1, I came off the pill beginning of May and had a withdrawal bleed a few days later then got my first AF 4 weeks after that. Last month I sadly had a chemical it was gutting seeing the faint line go but I guess it wasn't my time!
AF arrived on time Sunday so looks like my cycle ranges from 34-35 days.
I'm currently taking pregnacare and using the Ovia app for ovulation, I'm thinking if I don't concieve by month 6 I'll try ovulation sticks. Onward to month 4 I go 🤣

Gigi318 I got sickness on and off like you, I keep getting cramp and odd stomach feelings and shooting pains in my boobs. But all of them can be either AF or BFP 😂🤷

@Hewie30 tell me about it. Sometimes I'm convinced, and then I just think - am I going mad?! 🙈 exactly. Roll on next week - and then we'll find out. Fab folic acid it is. And cheaper too, I assume? This ttc thing sure does add up! Stuff telling my children to save for a mortgage or retirement, I shall be saying save for children 🤣 what are we like hey. Either we're on track or going crazy!!!!

Hewie30 · 15/09/2019 17:15

@gigi318 Haha exactly 😂😂. You definitely pay more attention to your body that's for sure. Yeah most definitely folic acid should only cost you a few pound, pregnacare is like £7 😂. It's expensive but I think it's because of the brand!

Haha yeah your completly right! It's so expensive! Especially if you test alot of get expensive opks it can definitely add up. A lady on here admitted she spend a few hundred during her time TTC

@Hewie30 yes! I just looked on Sainsbury's website. Folic acid £1, Pregna £4 minimum. Like you say, it's branding. Like Borocca vs Sainsbury's effervescent vitamin C 👌🏻 Exactly, and then it's onto the pram etc. But it's what you make of it, I guess. Whether you stay frugal or go to town with it all. I'd love to say I'd be the former, but who knows if I'll have beans on toast for tea and save up instead 🤣

Gigi318 · 15/09/2019 18:13

Right, ladies, odd one - has anyone experiences tingly/burning fingers? Bizarre but started last night and I thought it was because I was cutting up hot peppers! But it's still here and, as a crazy one does, I googled it and it says can be sign of pregnancy. Gals, am I literally driving myself mad here as I have never heard of something so strange before!!! Any thoughts?

Raizelrea · 15/09/2019 18:15

Can attest to Pregnacare making cycles longer, I took it between April and June and my cycles were definitely longer, though only by 4 or 5 days. But I just didn't quite get on with them in general. Just on folic acid now and feel much more normal.

Gigi318 · 15/09/2019 18:24

@Raizelrea that settles it then. Pure folic acid it is! Definitely feel more comfortable with that!

flossy12 · 15/09/2019 21:10

@Gigi318 it was just me and her ☺️ DSS wasn't there either, yeah she's been really pleasant since about things with OHso maybe it did the trick! 🤷🏼‍♀️ we actually had a good laugh

@Raizelrea god yeah I'm sooo relieved it went well, I hate having enemies I'm just not that sort of person I'm too lazy to be sour about things so just wanted the air cleared but like I say she's been very nice since so I'm hoping it will continue we have a few week before we drop the bomb of peanut so will see how it goes

@Hewie30 gosh yes! Sooo much more relieved! I knew we would get along if she just saw me as a normal person and not OHs girlfriend I think the stigma around ex's having new partners and what should come with that makes a difference so how people feel about things when it shouldn't at all 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm sorry to hear that! Glad your staying to chat I'd love the support through this☺️

Gigi318 · 15/09/2019 21:16

@flossy12 oh that's fantastic and TOTALLY get now why it would have been awkward to begin with. But at least it's done and she's being pleasant since. Sounds like job done 👏🏻 hopefully she doesn't turn once peanut announced 🤞🏻 sounds like you're in a good place!

Hewie30 · 15/09/2019 21:42

@Gigi318 Yeah definatly stick to just the folic acid just incase the pregnacare extends yours too. Your already in tune with your body so you don't want that messing it up. A friend of mine said she brought something for her baby when pregnant once a week with her weekly shop, I feel ill probably do that 😂😂

@flossy12 I'm so glad it went well and you got on. Exes new partners always get a bad rep and will always be the bad person in the other person's view but it's not that way once they get to know them. They realise your human too lol! Course I'll stay to support you ♥️

@Hewie30 I don't think I could handle that. It would drive me mad! Folic only it is. I'm hoping I'll be sensible 😬 we haven't got much room here, so that's one thing that will stop me from buying. I don't think I could stand the clutter. We're looking to move next year, so that could be interesting 🤣

flossy12 · 15/09/2019 22:18

@Gigi318 haha yeah exactly 😆😆 yeah me too! Aww little peanut 🥰 yeah I hope she doesn't! Back when she would argue with me and OH her favourite come back was 'why don't you go and have your own family' so 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Hewie30 yeah exactly! I don't want enemies just want things to be civi, really hope that she takes the news ok

Hope your new relaxed approach helps with a BFP 💞

Gigi318 · 16/09/2019 07:22

@flossy12 oh goodness, I hate things like that so I do feel for you! Let's hope she is good with it all. And, at the end of the day, if she isn't - oh well! You're pregnant and that's all that matters!

flossy12 · 16/09/2019 09:57

@Gigi318 yeahut used to really upset me, but no that's what I've said to OH it's her decision how she deals with the news just hope everything stays civil 😆

Katie1109 · 16/09/2019 09:59

Hi all, how are you all doing? @Hewie30 I am really sorry about your situation, it cannot be easy, but please do try and find positives in it! A lot of people I know conceived when they stop with all the apps, charting etc, so maybe you will to!
I'm 13/14 DPO and AF due today or tomorrow. No signs of it yet, my boobs are ridiculously sore and feel a bit nauseous - but it might be due to few drinks last night! I haven't tested today and probably won't test until Wednesday - only because I haven't got any tests at home lol x

flossy12 · 16/09/2019 10:01

@Katie1109 wellcome 😊 fingers crossed for you hun 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Gigi318 · 16/09/2019 10:04

@flossy12 so true. And she will get over it. It may just take time! I'm sure on some level she has been expecting it to happen!

@Katie1109 morning lovely! Hope AF stays away! Are you ordering new tests today? Good luck for Wednesday, only 2 days to wait. Woohoo. Do you usually get those symptoms before AF?

flossy12 · 16/09/2019 10:06

@Gigi318 well yeah it has been 2 years now that we've been together, I'm surprised she hasn't had another 😅 she will have to accept it eventually I'm sure it will all end up being fine

Katie1109 · 16/09/2019 10:11

Hi @Gigi318! I do get sore boobs, but not this sore though! I can barely touch them. I will order some tests today, not sure whether to order some cheap ones or get the FRER. I'm not hopeful for a BFP as it is first cycle after my mc, so not sure if I want to go into expense of FRER's x

Gigi318 · 16/09/2019 10:18

@flossy12 exactly. I wouldn't worry so much about what she thinks - she may try to make you feel bad. But that says more about her than it does you! What Susie says of Sally and all that! Urgh, families hey 🙃🙄😆

@Katie1109 I'm with you there. Why not go for the ICs and then if you're getting BFPs you can always confirm with a digital? Exciting!

Katie1109 · 16/09/2019 10:29

@Gigi318 yeah I probably will go for cheapies. Also I have recently seen a lot of photos with FRER test and indent marks on them x

Hewie30 · 16/09/2019 10:37

@Katie1109 Thanks hun ♥️. I'm pretty gutted but I got respect how he feels. Hopefully I'll catch this month but if not I'll have to remain positive and keep myself occupied so I don't think about it 😂. I'm not sure when I ovulated because I got a peak again at CD25-26. So that's very late.

Your symptoms sounds positive!!! I get what you mean with the frers they are really expensive! There is a package on Amazon where you get a onetouch a clearblue and frer which is a good deal!

flossy12 · 16/09/2019 10:44

@Gigi318 haha yeah exactly 😅😅 there never easy

Gigi318 · 16/09/2019 10:52

@Hewie30 oh that does sound like a good deal! I'm even going to look into this I think!
