Thought the old one was getting a bit full so I'd start a new one. I'll attempt tagging as many as I can

Thanks @Lozzlepop and the same to you fx for answers and solutions

@Makeafamily19 speak to your GP they can run a simple blood test. I suspected low progesterone and have had the day 21/progesterone test twice and both were normal so not conclusive in my case but it may put your mind at rest.

ValidUser · 08/10/2019 19:11

Hello all!

In spite of our month off, DH is due home tomorrow and I had a positive opk today.

Might as well have a shag tomorrow and see if anything comes of it. 🤞😂

Larrydavid · 08/10/2019 19:14

@ELW85 thank you! Hopefully it sticks!

@Anny27 thank you! I'll find the thread when I'm feeling bit more settled / pregnant!

@Lozzlepop japan was so great - I could live there! I'm really tired but that could be the jetlag. Only other symptoms are slightly sore boobs, heartburn and mild cramps. The heartburn is what made me test as I don't usually get it. Fingers crossed you get some answers this year 💛

@Makeafamily19 welcome!

ValidUser · 08/10/2019 19:15

@Larrydavid congratulations!

@MIW01 just waiting on the results now. Thanks for thinking of me!

Kiza · 08/10/2019 20:01

@Lozzlepop you could phone the GP and ask which clinic they referred you to then get the contact details off the Internet. I only knew our clinic as there were 3 so we were given a choice of which we preferred.

@orangeloo I've had intermittent spotting before AF quite a few time. Sometimes it's for a couple of days sometimes up to 10 days, I think sometimes it can be common but you know your body best and if you have the feeling that it could be something more than just regular spotting then maybe look into it a bit more? I don't know if there's foods/supps you could take that increase progesterone?

Lemonysherbet · 08/10/2019 22:37

Popped back in to see how everyone is doing and I believe congratulations is in order @Larrydavid

Not going to lie, the anxiety doesn't ease off, I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and still constantly worrying after the early MC before. But it's quite natural to worry and second guess everything I've been reassured a number of times by the lovely ladies on the pregnancy board. It didn't feel real until the doctor referred to after having the baby today!

I hope everyone else is doing ok, I'm still here cheering you on and crossing everything

XjustagirlX · 09/10/2019 09:32

Hello everyone. I’ve been quite silent for a bit as my last cycle was 57 days instead of the usual 32 and I ovulated really late so we weren’t even DTD so there was no hope. I got quite upset coz the long cycle had me thinking I could be pregnant. Also a close friend told me they were pregnant after 2 months trying.

Anyway I ovulated a few days ago on cycle 4 so now 3 days into the TWW. We have done SMEP but we ended up with 4 days DTD in a row which was quite a slog.

Lozzlepop · 09/10/2019 10:24

Hello ladies ☺️

@Makeafamily19 thank you, it has been a really tough year but the one thing about loss is it really does make you stronger as a couple and for that I am forever grateful!

@orangeloo thanks lovely!

@Larrydavid it seems quite a popular destination at present, I would love to go in cherry blossom season! Thats good, wait till the nausea kicks in lol! Thank you, I really hope so!

@ValidUser how are you doing? Yes to a shag, you go get some!

@Kiza yes I could do, I think I am going to wait until week 7 and then call if I haven't heard anything.....don't want to be too much of an eager beaver and get barked at for calling before the suggested timeframes.

@Lemonysherbet lovely to see you pop up, how are you getting on?

@XjustagirlX sorry to hear you have been feeling a bit down, did you get any explanations for your long cycle? Well done on SMEP I have everything crossed for you.

MrsH497 · 09/10/2019 17:33

@Larrydavid huge congratulations x

@Lozzlepop basically I got ill around ovulation so it was delayed and I didn’t ovulate until CD38. I thought I had ovulated earlier so we weren’t DTD when ovulation actually happened later in the cycle. So frustrating to lose 2 months of trying.

orangeloo · 11/10/2019 14:30

Hi ladies, happy Friday. Hope you are all well. I had a docs appointment this morning to ask for referral to fertility specialist. GP advises criteria changed last year and it's now THREE YEARS for referral!! WTAF that is insane!! I said I'm still having my spotting problem so I'm being referred to gynae clinic for further investigations which I'm now hoping throws up some answers or I get preggers naturally anyway. I've looked online and the nhs website says 2 years. Where did my gp get three from? Had anyone else ever heard this? I will challenge it again next visit. She said 95% of healthy couples would get pregnant in four years!? I hope she's got it wrong as this is seriously heartbreaking for many people. I'd be 35 then and even less fertile. This is another nhs cut and a very painful one. Sorry for the long post.

Kiza · 11/10/2019 15:32

@orangeloo when I read the nice guidelines a couple of months ago I'm pretty sure it said 1 year?

Kiza · 11/10/2019 15:35

@orangeloo here you go, you're correct it's still 2 years. This is the 2019 nice guidelines fertility pathway so quote this with your GP

pathways.nice.org.uk/pathways/fertility/investigation-of-fertility-problems-and-management-strategies.pdf

orangeloo · 11/10/2019 15:39

@Kiza so I've just looked into it further. Each nhs district (ccg) can make their own decision regardless of nice guidelines. I would have to move house quite a way to get to two years and some areas offer no help for people at all which is shocking. I will try post the link where I found this info tonight. Looks like I gotta keep Hoping and trying our best to be healthy and get that bfp naturally.

orangeloo · 11/10/2019 15:43

https://fertilitynetworkuk.org/trying-to-conceive/nhs-funding/england/

You have to look up what ccg you fall in then look up that area in the table. That is what IVF they offer. Makes for depressing reading tbh. Post code lottery at it's finest. Sad

Absa · 11/10/2019 20:04

Back from my holiday and in the TWW. BFN or AF due a week today - 18th. A day after DH birthday! Didn't track O this month as was away, so hoping we DTD enough / at the right time. Getting twinges / feelings exactly the same as I normally do a week before AF though so not feeling too positive :(

Kiza · 11/10/2019 20:27

@orangeloo that's awful!? So unfair too, 3-4 years is incredibly long!

@Absa me too! AF due Friday next week, trying my hardest not to symptom spot!

ValidUser · 11/10/2019 21:39

Hello all! @Lozzlepop I got my shag.

My thrombophilia screen came back positive. On heparin next time my test is positive.

I'm ok, but a tad overwhelmed!

Lozzlepop · 12/10/2019 08:36

@orangeloo 3 years- that’s terrible and seems so unfair that they can go against the guidelines. Not sure it’s the same up here in Scotland? Things just seen to be super slow!

@ValidUser glad you got your shag 🙈 sorry to hear your test came back positive it must be a lot to take in but hopefully it’s an answer and next time you will get that nice strong line ☺️

orangeloo · 12/10/2019 08:41

Thanks @Lozzlepop it is terrible. I think Scotland is good for ivf from what I read yesterday. I'm going to start acupuncture next month to help to. Even if it's just as relaxing as everyone says it will help me.

Lozzlepop · 12/10/2019 09:03

@orangeloo I looked at the Scotland tab on that link you sent through and it said you should be offered upto 3 rounds of IVF- doesn’t sound very concrete to me. I’ve heard really good things about acupuncture 🤞🏻

Makeafamily19 · 12/10/2019 09:05

@orangeloo 3 years is insane. In my area (Kent) it's 2 years, they also tried to reduce it to 1 cycle and got so much backlash they scraped it and stuck to 2, but they could still try to reduce it again. I work in the NHS and we are always being pressured to come up with savings.

Jooloo12 · 12/10/2019 09:43

Hi @orangeloo - are they saying that it's 3 years to wait for IVF or 3 years to wait for appointment at fertility clinic?? 2 or 3 years trying before they grant IVF is normal, but definitely not to wait for a fertility clinic appointment. You should get that after 1 year. I was lucky and my drs referred me after 10 months, but due to the wait times (4 months) it will be over a year by the time I have the appointment anyway.

There are things the fertility clinic will test for before IVF anyway, AMH levels, ultrasound, HyCoSy etc.... They might also have a different take on the spotting issue.

I really wouldn't accept that you have to wait for 3 years before a referral. Because then they'd want to do all those tests above, repeat your bloods and the semen analysis (which will all take months), then even if they do put you forward for IVF I've read that in many places there's this an additional 6 - 9 month wait on top. So getting in the queue early is good!

Hopefully you will get pregnant naturally (you still have a good chance if you're tests so far have been ok) but in case it might be worth pressing your Dr on this, and if they won't budge, maybe changing to another Dr locally to see if they interpret the guidelines differently.

Or otherwise, think about seeing someone privately at the year mark if you can afford it, but of course that is expensive :(

I'm at the 11 month mark myself and still hope to conceive naturally so of course don't give up on that too! X

orangeloo · 12/10/2019 12:02

@Jooloo12 yes its 3 years of trying before referral. Luckily despite guidelines doc seems to be on my side and is referring me to gynaecologist for spotting anyway in hope of getting more tests and sort of getting around the 3year factor. And totally as you say I'm still hoping to conceive naturally and fingers crossed for that. I just think it it devastating for people who are desperate and think it's terrible how much it varies area to area. I won't give up, and as you say once they add testing and wait times that's probably a year in itself. Fx for our natural BFP's soon. X

orangeloo · 12/10/2019 12:09

@Makeafamily19 I'm in Surrey which seems to be one of the worst areas. completely understand the need for the nhs to come up with cost savings but I don't think IVF cuts is a good way to go about it. I have other ideas for them but won't bore ppl with that on here lol. Infertility is devastating and a disease and shouldn't be cut in my eyes.
