I've had some tests already - before the year mark as the spotting is a symptom that something is not quite right.

Hey guys, hope you're all well! I'm just catching up on the thread.

So I got a bfp this morning (I'm Japan!) and am in shock!

After being on a work trip during ovulation, I honestly thought I was out this month so pretty much ignored the tww on holiday!

Not sure it's sunk in. And I don't want to get too excited as my last bfp turned into a chemical. But still.... 🥳

We've accidentally taken a break this month, I fell I'll with a bug last Sunday and it's still hanging around. DP had to call in sick Thursday and he hasn't taken a sick day since 2012 so must have been bad! I'm still not right had to give a stool sample Friday and it meant we didn't DTD at all over my fertile window so we're out this month.

@orangeloo I am exactly the same, obviously slightly different circumstances but we also never thought we would be in this position when we decided to start trying. Did your tests throw up any answers?

We are into week 5 of waiting for our referral letter and honestly now the weeks are starting to drag. Think I would be happy as long as I know the date as it’s all just a waiting game at the minute and feeling a tad frustrated with it all!

There's still a few of us left that have been trying a while and now onto fertility clinics and testing.
@Larrydavid wow congrats! Fingers crossed this one sticks for you! How did you manage DTD whilst on a work trip? Was that the story where you snuck him into the air bnb? 😆

@Lozzlepop the waiting game is horrendous. We got our referral letter through the post on Saturday telling us we will get an appointment within the next 18 weeks!! 😫 didn't know it would be that long as we got the GP tests so quick.

@Kiza oh wow that’s a long wait, it’s disheartening isn’t it? I’m dreading a long wait so really hope it falls into the timescales I’ve been told! Hope you are doing ok, are you still allowed to try while you wait for your referral?

@Lozzlepop we haven't been told not to and just finished what felt like a marathon of SMEP- it's bloody hard work!
Do you know what your wait times are and if you're still allowed to try?

@Kiza we’ve been told 6-8 weeks for a letter and a further 6-8 weeks for the appointment, we aren’t allowed to try as we are getting tests for recurrent miscarriage and there’s some they can’t do if you are pregnant!

@Lozzlepop tests show we are both normal so far but I can't help think my spotting every cycle means otherwise. @Kiza @Lozzlepop wow that is a long wait! I hope you get your referrals soon. I have a gp appointment on Friday to start the ball rolling for a referral. I was gonna leave it another couple of cycles but DP said why wait? Now seeing those wait times I'm glad I've booked in.

@orangeloo it’s frustrating that nothing has shown up, is the spitting consistent every month or just every now and then? I think all districts will have different waiting times, I’m just worried if that have messed the referral up and I’m not on the system and need to wait longer 🙈 today is officials week 5 so fingers crossed we hear something soon 🤞🏻 Hopefully you won’t have such a long wait!

@Lozzlepop that makes sense that you're not allowed to try. If you want certainty that your referral has been placed you could call the fertility clinic to see if they have received your referral? (That's what I did and was told they hadn't so phoned the GP back and he apologised he hadn't sent it off yet).
@orangeloo we got the ball rolling after 11 months after a friend advised to tell a little fib and say it had been 12 months of trying due to wait times. Is your LP regular? If not and you have spotting I've read about LP defects that can be overlooked in the NHS.

Not really sunk in. I don't want to get too excited - feeling happy though! I took another test this morning and the line is strong which is a relief!

@Kiza yeah the air b n b sex might have been the one that made it happen! 😂

@Lozzlepop sorry about those wait times - hopefully it'll bring you to an answer or solution as soon as the ball is rolling.
SMEPing in weird places has definitely become my thing!

@Lozzlepop @Kiza LP is regular and 13-14 days but I spot consistently a week before period every cycle? As my luteal phase is okay I'm not sure if spotting counts as a luteal phase defect or not. I suppose now I'm nearing a year all will be looked into in due course anyway. It would just be annoying if they found that was the reason and it was something easily solved I could have been pregnant ages ago.

Hi all, joined this thread a while back but not really posted just watching.

@orangeloo I also have spotting 5 days before AF, started yesterday and not due till Saturday. Guessing it means I'm out this month. This is only my 4th cycle but like you I keep thinking maybe this is an issue as I am sure it means low progesterone. I have been temping this month and my temp was still high yesterday but has dipped below coverline this morning. I really don't want to wait till 12 months if this could be an issue but not much I can do by the looks of it.
My period is only 1-2 days and then I spot again.

@Kiza the only problem is I dont have any details for the clinic, they didn't tell me anything so I am just guessing that it is based at the hospital with the maternity unit but thats a guess. Think I will leave it until week 7 as then I should have hopefully heard something dont want to annoy them buy calling too soon.

@Larrydavid how are you feeling, any symptoms? How is Japan? I have everything crossed for you ❤️yes I am hoping that we will have answers this side of xmas so can start afresh next year.

@orangeloo I think for some ladies spotting before AF is completely normal, I actually had it for the first time this cycle just monitor and if its worrying deffo bring it up again with the doctor. I totally get where you are coming from I really hope the tests give some answers for us both!
