Trying to conceive after Microgynon pill

Me and my husband have recently been trying for our third baby. I came off Microgynon in July and had a period shortly after. I cannot for the life of me remember when the first day of my last period was; however remember being on on the 19th July. My period still hasn’t come and I have taken first response “6 days early” pregnancy test this morning- no second line! This is driving me crazy as I feel pregnant (although I now feel like I may be imagining this!). Has anyone else been in a similar position, or know if the Microgynon may have altered/stopped me ovulating as normal? Our other two children are aged 6 and 8 so obviously I have been taking it continuously for a while!

Hi, I came off the pill at the beginning of June and have only had one period since ☹️ It took 45 days and I’m now waiting for the second one, currently on 32 days. It’s so frustrating as I have no idea if or when I’m ovulating and the long cycles means I have longer to wait to try again. I hope you have more luck than me

Awwww good luck - sounds a nightmare! Think I may be in the same predicament! I didn’t have this with my other two pregnancies!

When I came of it my cycles went from 27-42 days until I got pregnant. It took me 18 months I even had laparoscopic surgery to check tubes etc were ok - they were - I totally blame the pill on the length of time.
I didn't go near any contraceptive between my 1st and 2nd child and I conceived on 3rd month.

However I have friends who came of the pill and got pregnant straight away. I think it just really messed with me. In saying that I'm taking a progesterone only pill now as I couldn't handle the heavy periods and pms after 2nd kid

@confuddeledconfuddel oh no 18 months! I’m so worried this is going to happen to me. I was on the pill for 15 years! I’m already 31 and trying for number 1. I’m really starting to wish I came off ages before I wanted ttc. I never realised this could happen ☹️

Several years ago now - I came off Microgynon in July, had withdrawal bleed then nothing for months and months. GP said if got to 6 months then would run tests. I ended up getting pregnant at the beginning of February having never had a period. I really do think the pill can mess things up for quite a while.

I never realised the pill could mess with you like this- regret using it now! I’ve still not got a period but BFN test 😩

I was on Microgynon pill for 7/8 years. Stopped taking it on 25th May 19, got withdrawal bleed on 30th May and have had nothing since! (80 days!)

Really wish I had never taken it!

I was on it for ten years. Came off it in order to conceive which i did the same month so must have ovulated within a couple of weeks. Obviously then didnt have a period for 9 months!

@flamingjune123 that was my hope but sadly not meant to be for now.

Already finding ttc stressful due to irregular cycles! Would just be nice to know what’s going on, when I ovulate and when I’m in the two week window. And not have to wait 1.5 months each time or longer!

My doctor advised me that it would take about six minutes months for my system to get back to normal. I got pregnant on month 7.

@Sunshine8888 I was 31 when I conceived and now 35 with 2 girls, everything can change so quickly! I felt hopeless before I conceived and stressed which I don't think helped either.

@confuddeledconfuddel I’m trying not to stress but I’m not doing a great job of it. Just finding it all consuming 😬 Six months seems so long and even then no guarantees

@Sunshine8888 oh I know and if one more person told me just to relax I think I could have swung for them easier said. I do remember the feeling of thinking it will never happen and it's horrible I'm hoping you don't have to wait as long as I did but I'm also trying to give you hope that it will happen and just takes bodies sometimes that bit longer to adjust.

Have you tried using the ovulation sticks to identify your fertile window?
I was on microg for over ten years but conceived within three months of coming off it, using the ov sticks to work out when I was ovulating.

I came off this pill after 3 years on it and got pregnant within the first month with my first child in 2016, didn't even had a period! I'm currently TTC number 2, came off 1st July, had a withdrawal bleed then had a period on 30th July. Think I ovulated last week, currently in the 2 week wait......

So my period hasn’t come and I’ve had negative pregnancy test. May I still be ovulating even tho I haven’t had my period? Xxx

@Chelsea987 you may have ovulated late. Are you using ovulation sticks

I’ve just bought the sticks for next cycle. Pretty sure I ovulated yesterday as noticed EWCM and have had really tender boobs and stabbing pains down there for last two days! But I wasn’t tracking so can’t be 100%.

I’ve not bought ovulating strips but have also had the mucus and a bit achy like when period is due. We’re having sex every other day or so, so hoping that will do the trick 🤪xxx

I came off in feb 18. Had withdrawal bleed shortly after then nothing but fell pregnant in the april x

Hey I came off microgynon late last month, I've had a withdrawal bleed and I'm currently ovulating. I'll have to wait 2 weeks before I can test.. might do a FR test that lets you tests 6 days before missed period as I'll be so excited to see if I've caught xx worst thing I've experience is headaches xx

@AliSxo how do you know for sure that you’re ovulating out of interest?

So I think I’m 2-3DPO today so got a while to wait. I think AF due around 1 September

@Sunshine8888 I have fairly regular periods, I use the Flo app to track my periods and it predicts ovulation. I've also been using the ovulation sticks. According to Flo I'm ovulating most today xx
