I am still breastfeeding my 11 month old on demand & my periods haven't returned yet so I'm trying to be realistic that it's probably not going to happen until either I stop breastfeeding.
If you were in a similar situation would you start weaning? Or just continue & hope it'll happen? We have only been trying for two months.

Sorry if there are a million of these threads already, the search function isn't working for me

Hi OP, we started trying around that time. My periods had returned and I continued to bf until DS was 18mo. The first full cycle with no bf-ing at all, I fell pregnant! I'm now 31w. It's definitely worth trying while you bf as I know it is perfectly possible to conceive while breastfeeding. Even in my case it could just be a huge coincidence!

Hi OP,
I've recently become pregnant & am still breastfeeding my 2 &1/2 DD. I'm finding the feeding quite painful at the moment as my breasts are so sensitive. Trying to stop bf but not easy with a determined 2 year old!

I conceived dd2 while I was breastfeeding dd1. My periods returned when dd1 was about 12 months and I got pregnant first month of trying when she was around 16 months. I know she was still feeding several times a day at that stage too. My periods returned at around 15 months with dd2 and I know I was ovulating straight away because I could feel it.
I don’t know if there still is but at the time there was a ttc while breastfeeding thread on here. Anecdotally some people don’t have any problems conceiving while breastfeeding and others can’t. Also different people’s periods return at different times. I don’t think there’s any way you can tell which one you’ll be. Good luck!
