Is it possible to get pregnant while on the copper coil?

I’ve had a copper coil since around mid April. My periods have become heavier and more painful but always on time and I track them with an app called Ovia. I’m a week late, getting super tired, having back pains and feeling nauseous. With my first, that’s how I was feeling in the early weeks of pregnancy so naturally I’m thinking that’s what it is. But I was told the copper coil is over 99% effective, which is leaving me quite confused.

Hi I don’t want to worry you but after I had an ectopic the doctor wouldn’t allow me to have the copper coil as apparently the risk of another ep was increased with it.
Please take a test and get yourself checked out Flowers

Have you checked your coil is still on place?

Yes.

@Lexilooo I haven’t checked if it’s in place but that’s because I can’t. So the nurse told me she could hardly reach my uterus because the way I’m built down there, is quite long and narrow if you know what I mean. I’ve never been able to check simply because I cannot reach.
