Hi. I'm Lauren I'm 30 next month and I have been TTC since July 2018 ... and no luck yet!

I have regular periods, 26 day cycle and I normally last for 5 days. I was tested 2 month ago to see if I was ovulating and I am ... which is good news.

My partner hasn't been tested yet as the doctor didn't see the need as he has a child from a previous relationship who will soon be 5. He said it's not likely his fertility has changed in that space of time.

I am overweight, I'm 5"5 and I'm a size 18. I am trying to loose weight, which can be hard but I was told from my doctor that my weight would not cause too much of a problem.

We have regular sex sometimes a few times a day. I just don't understand why it's not happening yet.
Can anyone give me some advise?
Is anyone else in the same position as me??
Thinking of using conceive plus..has anyone used this and what do you think?

Xxx

Hey!

I'm in a similar position. I've been off contraception since September last year and I've not even had a hint of a BFP. I'll also be 30 soon.

Rubbish, isn't it!?! Confused

Do you take any vitamins? I've been taking folic acid, but I've just ordered pregnacare.

Hey there, sorry to hear that you’re having problems. Have you tried the sperm meet egg plan? I’ve not tried it but there was a thread on here about it earlier this week so might be worth a google?

Good luck! xx

I have been taking the pregnacare. For about 7 month. When I spoke with the doctor he said someone my age it can take normally 1-2years. It's so rubbish just feel like it's never going to happen!

Have you thought about using conceive plus I've heard loads about it but I don't know anyone who has tried it.

I've not heard of this no think I will look this up thank you Smile

Hiya!

I'm also in a similar position,, came off contraception last sept and also nothing happening! I'll be 30 in March too. Although my cycles have been long/irregular since coming off, so on 8th cycle atm.

Is this your first? My son is 4 and only took 3 months to conceive him so its worrying me now.

Are you using opk's? I'm in second month of using them but this month I'm meant to ovulating like now but all strips have been negative so far Confused.

I do take pregnacare (when I remember, I'm rubbish at remembering!)

Hoping something happens for us all soon!

Studies suggest that weight has a huge impact on fertility, as fat is an endocrine disrupter. Not sure where your doc got their information from??!

I could provide you with hundreds of this links...

I have used the Johnson clearblue , the one with the smiley faces. We used them with my first and hit the bullseye the first month of using them but this time it’s taking longer. I find the Johnson ones are expensive but most user friendly x

Lauren2409 · 12/08/2019 15:20

Yeah i know my self that weight is an issue so regardless of what the doctor has said i am try to shift the chub.

I might give the Johnson ones a try, the ones i tried were with the lines and sometimes they were very other times they were so faint .... just really confused me.

I've read up on how your body gives you signs of when you are ovulating and this has been spot on with ovulation calculators think i will give the opks another try.

I've been ttc for 17 cycles now, I was 30 in January, size 18 5' 5. So very similar boat haha.

We tried conceive plus for about 6 months, we used the whole tub, but obviously it hasn't worked. We've had tests done and all come back fine, so it's just down to luck. Which is frustrating!
Had blood tests done too, came back my folic acid was a bit low so she gave me some stronger one, but still nothing.

Lauren2409 · 13/08/2019 09:23

Very Similar boat!

my doctor said at my age it can take slightly longer to conceive but then everyone around mes falling pregnant so frustrating.
I take folic acid daily but i might still try the conceive plus, willing to try anything at the minute

Have you also considered and asked your doctor about CoQ10? A water and fat-soluble form absorbs better, and there is some research on it for fertility support.
