Pregnant after miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks last month (bleeding began on the 13th) and my partner and I both decided to hold off on trying because it was very hard to come to terms with, but on a spur of the moment, we did decide to not use protection the times after. Obviously, I have no clue when I have ovulated, or if I have at all, to begin with.

However, I have been told by the nurses and a doctor that pregnancy is more likely after a miscarriage so I'm wondering whether I could be pregnant. I'm on cycle day 28 (counting since the first bleeding) which is roughly when my period comes, though it can be a few days late.

Idk, is it even worth testing?

No harm in testing of you think you can cope with either outcome so soon after a miscarriage. Or maybe wait a week? It's so tough xxx

It's not unheard of however be prepared if you get a positive test it may be from old pregnancy.

I'm assuming you didn't test for a negative before trying again?

@thetwinkles well, I've ordered the strip tests so they won't be here until next week anyway. It'd be nice if it was positive. But I'm not holding out on it. My only suspicion woupd he the fact that my boobs and chest have gone really really veiny whoch only happened with my last pregnancy. Xxx

@Michellebops I had an EPU appointment 5 days after the start of miscarriage to confirm the loss and check that it wasn't ectopic. I had tests done then and they were all negative already. I checked a week after that and it was negative too. X

That's good I just didn't want you going through what I did. I still had positives for 9'weeks so was disappointing for me lots of times

I'm not sure if ai got my period or not. I started bleeding in work and had back pain (although my job is very physical and I always get back pain lol) and the blood was sort of brown and watery. Now its this (sorry i know its tmi.) My first day of my period is normally dark, nearly black, red and clots.

Is it possible that my miscarriage has messed up my period? Or changed it somehow? My chest is also so veiny that it's as if it's see through. It's kind of gross actually lol.

It's possible old blood from the miscarriage in your uterus.

Have you thought more about testing yet?

Michellebops · 10/08/2019 17:35

I'd maybe buy one rather than wait until your ic comes.
