Confused! Got these one step testing kit things off Amazon But mine don't seem to look like the example pics they give. Can someone help me understand this? So I can obviously see the mark line. But then what is the white line, and where is the positive result shows? Thank you!

If that is a pregnancy test then congratulations! If it is an ovulation test then it's negative.

Leave 10 minutes to see result. Test line needs to be darker than the control line. I've never had a positive yet (but that's probably because I don't think I'm ovulating) have attached a pic of one of mine

Do you think they really work?

When the second line is as dark as the first one then it's a positive test for ovulation. Meaning you'll probably ovulate within the next 24-48 hours. Sometimes people recommend doing them twice a day as the line can change pretty quickly and you might miss the peak.

If it helps these were mine when I conceived my daughter.

They do definitely work. I would recommend them to anyone who is TTC. I would test roughly from 4 days before your usual ov date and stop as soon as you get a positive.

There is no 'pattern' to it, in my experience they don't get darker as ovulation approaches or anything like that. It's just either positive or not.

They worked for me! I got pregnant very quickly once I knew when I was ovulating. Got pregnant 3 times within 5 cycles (sadly 2 pregnancies ended in MC) but cuddling my 12week old now! X

Quick question on these - when it's a positive does it come up pretty soon usually or can it sometimes take up until 10 minutes for it to go darker? Thanks

I think you need to wait 8 minutes before reading the results. They take ages to dry out

fallingasleeprightnow · 14/08/2019 19:46

@Alicia870 I use these every month. When I get my +opk it usually shows up within 2 minutes for me but it does say you should wait the full reaction time of 10 minutes. This cycle I had a line as faint as yours then 24 hours later I had a blazing positive.

Alicia870 · 14/08/2019 20:16

Thank you! I've got egg white type mucus but test negative - I'm on day 14. But have had very irregular long cycles the past few months. Is it possible to have the mucus and tests be wrong but still ovulating? I'm so clueless lol

@sunnysunshine1990 what app is that?? Xx

fallingasleeprightnow · 15/08/2019 08:53

@Alicia870 you usually ovulate at the end of your ewcm.

SunnySunshine1990 · 15/08/2019 09:23

Hey @queenqueenqueen it's called Premom, it's quite good and it's free, you can take a pic then upload it or take it from the app and it reads the strength of the line xx

Can I just ask- today I've had some small traces of blood when wiping after toilet. It's sort of mixed in with mucus. Sorry for tmi - we dtd yesterday but usually that wouldn't happen. Opk today is negative again Hmmanyone know why there might be a bit of blood
