Implantation 'cramps'?

We're only on cycle 3 of ttc so don't have a lot to go on..

Has anyone had implantation cramps before? What did they feel like? I'm 10 days po and have had two very very mild sort of period like cramps today, only lasting a minute or so each time and not painful. More just like a 'twinge' or pressure.

Don't want to get my hope's up and symptom spot but descriptions of implantation cramping are pretty rubbish online so was looking for some real life mum experiences to go on.

No other notable symptoms nor any spotting / bleeding. Have always had clockwork cycles I can time to the day so I'm sure it isn't an early period on the way.

I think I had them this month. It felt like sharp intense pains that lasted about an hour. Like day 1 period pins for me.

I didn't get any spotting with it.

How long post ovulation did you get this? Also are you still in the tww?

I had them. I'd describe it as a pulling or tugging pain. I never got pain before my period so I felt like it must be pregnancy, and I was right.

I agree it's best not to symptom spot though, as it can take over your life. Maybe write down any symptoms then get on with your day.

Best of luck Smile

P.S. I got them between 6 and 12 dpo.

Thanks Scarlet, I'm trying hard not to symptom spot like ignoring being tired or cranky and all the usual stuff that could be anything. But this one was something new that I couldn't write off as just being a tired cranky woman haha

Unusual for Implantation cramps to come that early (though implantation bleeding certainly can). The cramps tend to come around when your period is due on the testing day and around the same time for a few months after that - as the embryo gets bigger and really nestles into the womb.

Thanks for the reply Teddybear - yeah it's hard to get my head around what's supposed to be normal as so many pregnancy websites and books all say different things. I've not felt anything else this evening

You may be right Teddybear45, but I got mine distinctly from 6 dpo onwards, so it can happen.

Ok. I had implantation bleeding, but my cramps started after I tested positive. They felt like intense period pains and repeated (with spotting) every month until 12 weeks. However, cramping and spotting in an IVF pregnancy is considered normal due to the hormones we get put on - I don’t think it’s as usual for these symptoms to occur in healthy non-IVF pregnancies. Fingers crossed you get a positive with minimal symptoms!

@FatAndFurious7 I'm not. I got my BFP! Now 5 weeks and stressing about that.

It was about 5 days. X
