This is definitely just a late period isn't it...

My period is currently 8 days late but tests so far have been negative. I am 99% convinced I am not pregnant and it would now be impossible date wise and my body is just being an arse but I would be grateful if anyone would be able to just say no you are definitely not pregnant.

The facts... last period 30th June-6th July. Cycle usually 28-31 days long so due around 28th - 31st July. Last had sex on 14th July, DH had a horrible cold/flu and then was away until last night so nothing since 14th.

Here's the kicker, I've tested 28th and 29th July and 3rd August. First two clearblue and most recent First Response early detection. All negative, not even a squinter. That's it right? I just wish it would hurry up and reset the clock so I can try again so to speak.

I'm sorry I don't have any advice. I didn't want to read and run! If it was me I'd be obsessively testing but I am not a healthy person lol. I hope you get your answer soon!

Thanks @BoomerangLurker. It's so frustrating! I am having zero symptoms (either period or pregnancy) so no clue either way.

I'm in a similar boat! My periods only two days late but I've had a positive and a negative test. This will be my fifth miscarriage. No real symptoms either way so feeling lost it's a minefield

MediocreOmens · 08/08/2019 14:09

Oh @BoomerangLurker Sad I had a very faint positive three cycles ago and my period started the very next day. This process is really horrible Thanks

It's awful and it just makes me so angry there is not anywhere near enough interest, research or proper care for female fertility

MediocreOmens · 08/08/2019 14:53

I absolutely agree. I wasn't even able to book a doctors appointment to discuss some concerns I am having regarding fertility as "it hasn't been a year yet". I have other reasons to want to discuss them i.e family history but it was a firm no. That is just at ground level so I dread to think of the apathy higher up.

Yeah I've been there. My family and friends keep telling me to go to gp but it's not that simple

Hoping everything goes well in the future for you both, not trying to sound like I know any answers, I don't. But I went through infertility for 3 1/2years, suffered one confirmed miscarriage during that time and every month was a painful (mentally) cycle of highs and lows. I don't want to give you advice on getting pregnant, tell you a story to inspire you that miracles happen, just to say, be kind to yourselves and your bodies (I hated mine for not doing what I wanted it to). Treat your bodies well, they are doing what they can. Tell yourself help is coming, that first year is excruciating esp if you think you already know there is a prob in particular, but we live in a part of the world that means help does come, even if you have to wait for it. I know that sounds preachy, I really don't mean it to, but looking back allows us to see what we wish we could do differently, and I can't tell myself this stuff, so I hope it reaches you in the supportive not condescending way it is meant to xx

It's frustrating as I don't think most drs will even consider a blood test to check until you've missed 2 periods. Is there any reason this one could be delayed? You being ill/stressed/travelling for example? 🤞🏻 for you that you get your bfp soon.

MediocreOmens · 08/08/2019 15:59

Thanks @Abi58, no I am very relaxed at the moment actually! I think if my period doesn't arrive in the next few days I will push for a GP appointment to check my hormone levels.

I just started my AF and was about 10 days late. So frustrating because you just want it to come and go so you can start the next month.
I kept doing more tests in the hope one was positive but quickly learnt if its negative after your due then it's more than likely your not pregnant. And it's just AF being a pain!
I really had to push for my GP to do bloods so completely understand your frustration. I had the results back this morning it was negative and started AF this afternoon.
But baby dust for us all for next month x
