Period after Miscarriage

Sorry, this is probably a very FAQ. I miscarried on Monday 8th July (it started on the Sunday but I passed clots on the Monday). My first scan was due to be the following week but I was 11 weeks and 4 days on calculations. They couldn’t say for sure if it was a MMC. I didn’t have any medical treatment, things seemed to pass naturally and blood tests showed my hCG was declining as it should but I only tested negative on pregnancy test 2 weeks ago (NHS advised me to do this instead of going back for blood test). I really hoped my period would have arrived on Monday - I used to have a 28 day cycle- but no sign yet. Will it be later because of hormones not levelling out until later. How long did it take for your period to come back? For the last week I’ve started to feel a bit more my self but I now cannot stop crying again....maybe a sign my period is coming I guess.

Hey, I'm sorry you have been through this , I know what it's like. I had a mmc on 23rd April when I should have been 12 weeks but baby only got to 9 weeks. I had a negative hpt 2 and a half weeks after and my period returned 4 weeks after that , so 6/7 weeks after the mc , and then back to my normal cycle since. Xx

Mine took 8 weeks after my mmc x

Mine took 5 weeks from my mmc. I think it can vary from 4-8 weeks

Thank you for your replies. I kind of thought that because the hpt took a while to be negative that it not be as quick as 4 weeks after the mc. Frustrating though. Hope you are all doing much better. I read a quote that it's the worst ‘club’ in the world you can join — but once you're in, you realise almost everybody you know was already a member. Sharing experiences definitely helps x
