We are TTC #3. We lost our 2nd child suddenly last year so this was not originally part of our family plans. It's all very very emotional as you'd imagine and I'm a lot older now so who knows if it will happen. Because we didn't plan this I've erased all the useful info on ttc from my brain. Can someone remind me please, how soon can you check if you're pg and between periods do you ladies still have a few wines in the couple of weeks between DTD and testing? Two completely random qs!

Hi @Tickly. Firstly I want to say I’m so sorry for your loss
To answer your question, sensitive tests like FRERs pick up HCG generally around 10dpo onwards though I have seen positive FRERs at 8dpo (not me personally). The most accurate result and what I’d recommend is that you wait until a week after your period is due to avoid the disappointment of a chemical pregnancy or very early loss. If you can’t wait a week then certainly I’d wait until the day of the missed period.
Some women treat their bodies as if they are pregnant during the TWW I.e no drinking. However, think of all the pregnancies where women don’t find out they’re pregnant until 5/6 weeks. They go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies even if they drank not knowing they were pregnant. So I think you can definitely treat yourself though don’t go wild!
