Hello All,

I hope you can help. i have been having lots of really weird symptoms that suggest i might be pregnant. however i cannot afford a test and so i am hoping you can help.
For the past 4 weeks if not longer, i have been feeling really tired all the time. All i want to do is sleep and eat and go to the toilet. no matter how much i sleep, i am constantly tired. On top of this, i am not constantly more hungry but i have been feeling very sticky. Also i am peeing so much even if i am not drinking much. Plus pain in my lower back and my boobs feel wierd. These are not normal PMS symptoms for me.
I just seem to have lots of symptoms that make me thing i could be pregnant. The issue i have is that i have been on the mini pill since last December and that has stopped my periods. However, my pill has failed in the past and i fell pregnant nearly two years ago but had a misscarrage. Just really need some advice

No one can tell you if you are pregnant. You can pick up tests pretty cheap, I think I got 2 for £3.50 from Morrison's. if you can't afford that then go to your doctor - I'm sure they can do a test. Or a STD clinic, they always test for pregnancy. Good luck

DramaAlpaca · 05/08/2019 01:52

We really can't tell you. Early pregnancy symptoms are different for every woman. You need to buy a test or go to your GP. Hope you get the result you want.

littlelove7 · 05/08/2019 02:44

You will only know for sure when you test. You can get a pregnancy test from Poundland or 99p store to check :)

Thisandthat1248 · 05/08/2019 13:43

You can get a free one sent to you - lifecharity.org.uk/need-pregnancy-test/

TwistyTop · 05/08/2019 13:51

There is no way of knowing without a test. Go to the doctor if you can't afford a test. They will do a urine test and can also do a blood test to confirm.

virginpinkmartini · 05/08/2019 13:51

If you have a B&M, Home Bargains or Poundland nearby you can get about 3 test strips for a pound and they are just as effective if used properly. Asda do a Freedom test for a pound, but steer clear because they have been giving false positives apparently.

Gillseybear · 05/08/2019 14:41

Thank you so much everybody. I have blood tests tomorrow to try and work out why I am so tierd ect all the time. So hopefully that will give me some answers. Will also make myself an appointment to see the doctors tomorrow.

The worst thing about this is that I have had a misscarrige before and it devistated me. I do not wanna get my hopes up and have the same result.
Also had some spotting in the last couple of days

Can't afford a test?? Sorry but can you afford a baby????

Gillseybear · 06/08/2019 14:10

Well one was not planned as I am not in a relationship. So did not intend to end up in this situation. Also have been on the mini pill and the doctor thinks that it failed. Two I am a student and have not been able to get a job down where I am studying. So right now I have no money coming in. Hence why I cannot afford a test. Not sure why I have had to explain myself to you though as it is none of your business. I hope you never find yourself in this situation

She wasn't asking you to explain yourself but you're making it sound like you want to be pregnant when you can't even afford a test.

MaryShelley1818 · 06/08/2019 15:36

Well hopefully has a valid point and it sounds extremely childish to be snapping at people saying it’s none of your business when you’ve posted your business on an anonymous Internet Forum so you can’t police how people respond.
Clearly no one on here can answer this for you so you need to get a Pg test but yes, if you don’t even have a £1 for a test then you really can’t afford a baby.

Lozz22 · 06/08/2019 15:58

Poundland do one step tests. Either piss on a stick type ones or the ones you dip in your urine. The pack I got had 3 tests in a box

Dlah · 06/08/2019 16:06

Tesco now do a £1 test if it helps, get 2 strip tests in the pack

Broodyaf · 06/08/2019 16:28

Hey @Gillseybear
Did you get ur bloods done at the doctors today?

Gillseybear · 07/08/2019 00:22

Hello All,

I just want to apologise for snapping at you @hopefully2019 as i never meant to do that. I have found that i am very emotionally all over the place and little things like that are triggers for me lately. I turned to here for advice as i have nobody in my life that i can discuss this with. Again i am really sorry for snapping,

@Broodyaf, i did get my blood done today but i had to go up to the hospital as i am no good with needles and they could not find a suitable vein at the doctors. Am going back to the doctors in the morning to see if the blood tests have shown anything. Hopeful i will get the answers i need.

I just want some advice really as i am not in a committed relationship and have been on the mini pill since December. So it is looking like my pill might have failed. I have always been pro choice when it comes to deciding on abortions etc but i am not sure i would ever be able to have one myself. However, due to MH and families opinions of me, i feel like i will be told to have an abortion. I am not sure i could ever bring myself to do it. Have had a previous miscarriage which devastated me and caused the end of the relationship and i have endometriosis, which means i have a chance of being unable to conceive as i get older. Really not sure what to do for the best.

Hey @Gillseybear
When u were up at the hospital today, or even the GP, did they not suggest giving a urine sample and they check there and then in front of you and give you an answer?

The bloods make it 100% cert but they normally use a urine sample first

I think u should try and keep yourself calm u til u find out for definite if you are pregnant as u may be worrying for nothing.

And cross that bridge when u come to it

Have you any siblings u can talk to? Or a really close friend?

Gillseybear · 07/08/2019 10:08

@Broodyaf i did a small test yesterday that they gave me. i thought i saw something but it will not let me upload pictures on here. Have just gotten of off the phone with the doctor and the only think that the blood test picked up was that my Vitamin D was just under the preferred range and so they wanted me to take a suplement. They also want me to do another test in the morning and see what that says. So will have to see what happens
