Conceiving after removal of Mirena coil

Hi guys!

I'm new to this so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place or anything! Thought I'd sign up to chat to others who are in a similar situation.

I had my Mirena coil removed 2 months ago and my periods went back to normal immediately, my partner and I agreed prior that we wanted to start trying for a baby. I'm just wondering how long it took others to fall pregnant after the removal of the coil? I knew it wouldn't happen immediately but I can't help but feel a little disheartened each time I have a period!

Again sorry if this is in the wrong place! Xx

Hi doodles, I had my mirena removed Jan 29th, had crazy bleeds Feb and fell pregnant march. I did however use a clear blue advanced fertility monitor so I knew when to try! Sadly I had a MC in may had bleed in June and was unsuccessful July! Ovulating today or tomorrow hence why I'm up late haha!! Wishing you the best of luck! Hang on in there Smile xx

Hi Elles!

Thanks for your reply! So sorry to hear about your MC, I guess that's the other worry isn't it after you do fall pregnant it's staying pregnant! I'm due to ovulate on 7th, that's going off an app I've been using on my phone, Flo. Not sure how totally accurate it is but it seems to be getting my periods spot on! Keeping everything crossed. It's so hard when everyone around you seems to be falling pregnant so quickly and so easily! Thanks so much lovely, best of luck to you too 😍 xx

I always ovulate 3 days before my predicted ovulation dates on apps, I use my tracker (the app) and my fitbit app fertility bit. They both get my periods exact and I'm quite regular with a 26day cycle. I'd just say keep the loving to a maximum around that week lol! So if your predicted day is Wednesday id be inclined to start Monday and then dtd every other day till the Monday after 😂! MC are never nice but it's made me so much more determined! I'm so blessed to already have 4 children, 2 grown up and 2 little ones at home. I have a new partner and he doesn't have children and so it would have been his first. So we're very eager and excited 😬! I wish you all the luck in the world and would be lovely to keep in touch xx

How can you tell? I use my Fitbit fertility bit too yeah have linked that to the Flo app! I seem to be regular on a 28 day cycle since having the coil removed and yep it's been spot on so far which surprised me! Haha yeah we've just been DTD as much as possible usually every day around the time I'm ovulating 😂 I can imagine it has! Aww bet your others will be so excited too when it does happen! Similar situation my end but the other way around! My partner has a 4 year old son, but it would be my first if we do fall pregnant :) thanks so much and all the best to you guys too! Yes please that would be lovely 😊 xx

I know I ovulate early because I use the clearblue advanced fertility monitor so it tells me the two peak days, so I know somewhere within that 48 hours I ovulate. I think that's why we were so lucky to concieve the very first month. Today is my second peak day as it goes so I am now on the 2ww (I'm just getting down with all of this lingo lol!) It's super exciting stuff! Xx

That's interesting, I'm so new to all this too! So yeah have only been using the app but maybe I should look into that! The wait is just the worst! The day I came on last week I was so devastated just because I'd tried not to get my hopes up but obviously had. It is so exciting though! I've wanted a family for so long, but obviously not wanted to rush it just for the sake of wanting kids. Met my partner and prior to him always said I'd never date someone with a child, little did I know I'd fall in love with them both! And yeah it's so exciting to finally be in a position where it feels right and it's what we both want :) xx
