Irregular periods after taking 'Seven Seas Trying for a Baby'

Hi all,
My periods have always been like clockwork but since taking 2 packs of Seven Seas Trying for A Baby they have been all over the place! My first month I was 2 weeks late, the next month I was 12 days late and now this month there's no sign of AF :(
Has anyone else had problems with these? And does anyone have any advice as to how I can regulate again?
Going to try and exercise daily and eat healthily. Really disheartening considering I'm taking them to TTC!
Thank you xxx

Hi @advicepleaseeex, just seen your thread. I’ve been using the seven seas trying for a baby for the last three months. I started taking them before I came off the pill. When I did come off the pill on the 26th May I had a bleed four weeks later. However I was then on a 40 day cycle which seemed to go on forever. I have always had a regular 28 day cycle so this two week lateness is not usual for me. I just put it down to my cycle getting back to normal after coming off the pill, I was on cerelle and didn’t have a period at all when I was on it. However, now I’m wondering if it’s the Seven Sea’s.
Thankfully AF came for me on Wednesday but I’ll be interested to see if this cycle is a normal 28 day one or if it’s long again. Definitely worth considering.
I’m sorry that doesn’t give you any advice as such but I have read other threads and many people report irregular cycles at the start of their TTC journey. I have read that although your period may not be coming you may still ovulate during that wait so I guess try to stay positive and keep DTD when you can.

Thank you @Positivity2019 - I feel better knowing I’m not on my own x I stopped taking them in June as I thought maybe they had something to do with my lengthy cycle. So time will tell.. just really want to come on now and get my old cycle back to how it was. I have bought some ovulations sticks to see if I am actually ovulating and booked a doctors appointment too. Sod’s law when you actually want AF it never comes 😂 hope it works out for you too! X

I absolute know what you mean about just wanting a period to start so you can get the cycle back into a normal flow. When I was waiting through that 40 day cycle I took three pregnancy tests because I just had no clue what was going in. I took them well spaced out and with each negative I was quite frustrated and suddenly desperate for the period to start. I felt Helpless that nothing could progress until that came or I got a BFP. Now that I’m mid way through this period the relief has lessened into more of an oh yea, I remember periods suck 😂
Definitely use the ovulation sticks and good luck with the doctors!! Fingers crossed for an AF soon X

@advicepleaseeex
This happened to me as well :(
My cycles got longer and more irregular and it was awful at first because I obviously thought I was pregnant since I was late for the first time ever. But then it happened again and these pills were the only thing I had changed so I stopped taking them and the cycles went back to normal.

But atm my cycles are a complete mess, so we can't really TTC. I decided to try Vitex/Agnus Castus a few months back and those pills absolutely fucked up my cycles and I'm still struggling. I had a 68 day cycle and have now been bleeding constantly since June 8th...so horrible.

I just moved between countries and while I was still in the UK they suspected I have PCOS but hadn't officially diagnosed me. I have now read that if you have PCOS and insulin resistance, you shouldn't take vitex since it can make the symptoms of PCOS worse 😭 so that might be why Vitex was so bad, but I'm not sure about the Seven Seas pills.

Robs20 · 03/08/2019 20:16

I had the same. No idea if it was the seven seas tablets. I’ve started taking the superdrug pre pregnancy tablets instead now!

advicepleaseeex · 03/08/2019 21:48

@beibikeiks oh wow, that’s crazy!! How long has it been since you came off them? Mad to think that things stay in your system for so long 😭 I really hope they start to regulate for you soon. Please keep us updated!
@Robs20 how long did it take for your cycle to go back to normal? I think I’m going to lay off any vitamins for a while and just see what happens. Xx

I’ve only just stopped taking them. Had to take norethisterone on the last cycle to induce a period (got to day 40 when I normally have 24/25 day cycles). Hopefully this month will be back to normal!

Happy2be · 03/08/2019 22:03

Off topic but when I was trying to conceive I started taking CoQ10 and vitalDHA tablets that luisa zissman recommended. Not sure if coincidence or not but I fell pregnant the following month.. Just another option if you want to read up about them.

SlowlyThenAllAtOnce · 03/08/2019 22:06

I had this. Later diagnosed with PCOS.

Positivity2019 · 04/08/2019 12:59

So many things to consider, thanks for your advice and input. I am at the end of my period now so I guess I’ll see how this cycle progresses. I do agree I’ve always been so regular with my periods and the only difference is taking these vitamins. However many people I’ve spoke to report their cycles being a little irregular when they first come off the pill.

beibikeiks · 04/08/2019 12:59

@advicepleaseeex
I stopped taking Vitex at some point in May when the cycle was getting way too long. I just checked, the cycle wasn't 68 days, it was 78 😭
I'm just waiting for my doctor's appointment now so I can get the diagnosis and help to regulate my hormones (it's our 4th year trying for DC2)

Positivity2019 · 04/08/2019 21:36

Oh @beibikeiks I really hope things can get sorted for you soon.

beibikeiks · 04/08/2019 22:05

@Positivity2019
Thank you 😊 I really hope so too!

I started taking seven seas trying for a baby as my periods have been very irregular since I was 15, I heard they helped with PCOS which I’m not diagnosed with but I’m sure I have, after falling pregnant and miscarrying my periods are now regular which is confusing for me but they’re also extremely heavy. The trying for a baby tablets are actually helping with the heavy periods I find as if I’m not taking them when I pee on a period I just pee blood but when I’m taking them my periods aren’t as heavy which helps me a lot
