Negative pregnancy test - could I still be pregnant?

So I was due on my period Thursday 25th July and I'm yet to come on and have no symptoms that I am due to come on like I usually do. My periods have been consistent on a 28 day cycle so this is unusual for me.

I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and both are negative.

The last date of unprotected sex was 22nd July. I have read online it can take two weeks to show but clear blue says you can take a test before your missed period with 99% accuracy so I'm just a bit confused.

Can anyone give me further advise? Could I still be pregnant?

Hi - you could bc I'm sure for some people it takes a while for the hormone to build up. But I wouldn't want to raise your hopes because I've been tricked by my body before and been disappointed. Fingers crossed for you though!!

Did you have unprotected sex around ovulation? It could be you ovulated later this cycle so your af will be late.

Yes we were on holiday when I ovulated which was over two weeks ago now.. Not sure if I should do another test tomorrow morning or wait a few more days.

Just checked the app I use to track and I believe I ovulated on 12th July.. sorry I really am clueless with this!

I suspect you've ovulated late this cycle for some reason as if you ovulated on 12th and were pregnant you'd likely ha e a positive test now.

Do you notice anything else when you're ovulating, like cramping or egg White cervical mucus?

Jaz994 · 29/07/2019 17:28

Thank you for your help.. guess I'll have to wait and see!

Yes usually get egg white discharge and recorded having this on the 12th July this month..

Hmm, maybe the ewcm was leading up to your ovulation. What tests have you used? The most sensitive are first response early response. With no sign of af and positive signs of ovulation, you're still in 🤞

I've taken one cheap one from Asda which says 4 days after missed period but if I was late ovulating this would not work anyway and also one clear blue (normal not digital)

Taken another test.. still negative! Think I'm going to drive myself mad until I have a definite answer (period or pregnant) Sad

:( maybe your body tried to ovulate (when you saw ewcm) and then didn't do it for some reason, so perhaps you're still going to ovulate at some point. Still keep dtd regularly and hopefully you'll catch the egg 🤞 x

Thank you so much for your help! Like I said I really am clueless to all this..

I guess I could of ovulated late and then dtd 22nd so May be why negative test Hmm

I am under active thyroid which can cause late ovulation ..

Anyway guess I will just have to wait and see!

I’d get a FRER and test using that.

Jaz994 · 29/07/2019 20:19

Thank you! I'll get that one if nothing changes! Should of just got that one in the first place Smile

I tested with an FRER 4 days early and got a positive. Then again with a "normal test" 3 days after my period was due and got a negative...currently 31 weeks pregnant. Try not to stress about it too much at the mo (easier said than done I know) and try again in a day or 2.

Jaz994 · 29/07/2019 23:44

Thank you that is good to know.. I think I'll try to not think about it for a few days and maybe try again towards the end of the week!
