Very dark ovulation test and very long cycles...

So, I’ve taken an ovulation test which was positive around what was actually cycle day 28, my natural cycles app recalculated to make my period tomorrow - which is a 41 day cycle - this isn’t totally uncommon to me, I’m 17months pp and still breastfeeding at night. It’s my first month using ovulation test strips so I decided just to use them right the way through the cycle - yesterday and today they’ve become much darker again, I’ve read there can be an LH surge before period... does anyone else frequently have this and have them so dark during this surge?

Yes you can get an Lh surge just before your period.

Some people on here also believe a positive opk can be a sign of pregnancy also and use them rather that hpt.

I think it’s likely a surge then as I feel very pre-periody today! Thank you x

I had this alongside positive hpt, maybe do one just to be sure? Personally I had lines most the way through my cycle but only a positive at ov and with hpt.

Thanks for replying - do these look like positive ov tests to you? Sorry, it’s my first month doing them and I find it tricky to tell, as like you, there’s always a slight line throughout cycle.

LH surge before a period is less common than a positive OPK also indicating pregnancy - I've used OPKs for years

Got these shitty ones as thought I may as well have a few stocked up... all appear positive to me... so I guess the ovulation test thing was indicative for me! Crazy!!! Will get a decent one to confirm tomorrow! X

Sorry yes they are pregnancy tests! Did a clear blue too which was a lovely big dark line! Just thought I’d report back that the original positive opks were a indicative of pregnancy (for me) xx
