Hey guys decided to make an end of August bus as there is already an August bus and by the time we get to the middle of aug we will need a new one anyway and it will keep us all around the same time in our cycles.

My stats
TTC no 2
Cycle 7
CD 1
AF/BFP due 25th August
Age 29(30 in 10 days 🙈)

What day do you think you've been ovulating on previously @Tamalama

Tamalama · 03/08/2019 09:04

@mrssunshinexxx it seems to vary each month- the last few months it's ranged between days 10-14. I've always gone by cm and ovary cramps though. This is the first month I've used opks properly. I had really uncomfortable ovary pains on Monday. Ewcm also started then and I had loads on Thursday. Since then, no cm at all but since yesterday I've had really bad bloating and constipation, and it's still the same today, I feel so uncomfortable. That's why I was surprised to get my smiley face this morning because all the typical ovulation symptoms I use as my method of tracking have all gone.

mrssunshinexxx · 03/08/2019 09:17

@Tamalama it's great that you took one this morning.
I am using cb ovulation sticks this month for the first time and I'm scared for some reason also crosses my mind am I ovulating ? And if I am and use them correctly and dtd plenty and don't fall pregnant what's wrong with me ?

Pretty sure so far I must of missed it because like you I spotted cramps etc but nothing has happened and probably eased off on the dtd as soon as cramps disappeared x

mrssunshinexxx · 03/08/2019 09:17

@Tamalama I think I'm going to start them on Monday which will be cd 11 and pray I haven't missed it it would just be far too close to my period to happen on or before cd 11 ? They are so expensive!

DramaLama2019 · 03/08/2019 09:21

@kenhomsbestwok have you done a pregnancy test to rule of the lh being caused by pregnancy? That was the reason for my early and persistent peak ovulation test

Thanks guys

Unfortunately not straight forward for us as I need to have a NIPT at 9 weeks so I'm remaining cautiously optimistic but what will he will be.

X

Tamalama · 03/08/2019 09:31

@mrssunshinexxx I think that's where we may be going wrong! That's why I've been tracking my ov using CB this month. I started using it on Thursday when I had my huge amount of ewcm, so I was completely shocked and flat that it was negative! I just bought them on the spur of the moment! I had been using cheapies since monday, but I thought I'd try the CB ones in the end too. I guess it goes to show that just like pregnancy symptoms and af, our bodies trick us 😕 good luck using the opks! Just make sure you track every day. I was doing mine using fmu and then again in the evening. They are so expensive though! X

mrssunshinexxx · 03/08/2019 09:39

@Tamalama thanks when is af due ? Do you think I will be ok starting on cd 11? Most people apparently get blank screen for a few days atleast.. I am only using FMU that's what it says to do on packet and cheaper ! Xx I hope we get lucky

Tamalama · 03/08/2019 09:44

@mrssunshinexxx Af is due to start either in 16th or 18th! I started testing on cd9. If you've got a pack of 10 then I guess you could also start using them around the same time? I'm sure cd11 will be fine though x

mrssunshinexxx · 03/08/2019 09:47

@Tamalama I also have a pack of 10 I don't want to need to buy more this cycle xx

Tamalama · 03/08/2019 10:16

@mrssunshinexxx yeah I've got a pack of 10 as well. My smiley face should stay on screen for 48 hours. Once it's gone I'll take another test just to check levels are low again, and I guess that's when I know I can start officially counting dpo! X

kenhomsbestwok · 03/08/2019 11:23

@DramaLama2019 - it would have to be the immaculate conception since due to DC knackering us both beyond belief we've not had sex in months!!!!

DH has said we can DTD whilst on period - I'm not convinced that it will work as am also hardly bleeding at the moment so by time ovulation happens I'll be on heaviest and not sure my lining will have recovered in time for it to implant. Might just wait until next month. That said, I clearly have a sticky womb lining generally as my MMC clung on for over 3 weeks before I knew I was miscarrying!

Tamalama · 03/08/2019 11:23

I thought I would also use one of my cheapie opks to monitor how accurate they are, and I got a positive on that too so at least I know they're also reliable 😊

End of August bus
Tamalama · 03/08/2019 12:48

@kenhomsbestwok I totally know what you mean about finding time to dtd! We both work full time and have a DD who is almost 3. She's discovered the joys of p*ssing about at bedtime, which means that it's now more difficult for me and DH to have some alone time and we used to mainly dtd once she'd fallen asleep. Also, she's dropped her daytime naps, which means no dtd during the day at the weekends 😂😭

Lauralozzle · 03/08/2019 14:41

Wow, this thread has taken off since my last post.

Been very tired past few days, and haven’t temped past few days either. Will start again tomorrow morning.

Currently on CD6, period is over but still have a bit of spotting. Planning on doing EMSP again ( and doing a better job of it this month) and will start opks on CD10.

I’m hoping good lie in today will stop me being so tired so I can prepare for this month properly. I’ve had no energy to do anything!

MrsD0147 · 03/08/2019 18:24

Started using my OPKs today as think I am due to ovulate between Monday- Wednesday this week (it seems to vary) and it came up positive! Typical that my DH away this weekend isn’t it haha!!!

flissity · 03/08/2019 18:29

How annoying he's away.. I've been away with the DC and it luckily coincided with af.

kenhomsbestwok · 03/08/2019 18:42

I mean, does anyone think there's any point in DTD today/next few days? TBH, if there's little chance it will implant anyway I'm not sure I can be bothered! I'd rather have a few glasses of wine, a white magnum and watch Manifest!!!

Tamalama · 03/08/2019 19:08

@kenhomsbestwok When are you due to ovulate?

kenhomsbestwok · 03/08/2019 19:52

@Tamalama, Tuesday according to the Clue App. Got a positive cheapie OPK this morning (though not as dark as control line but you know, it's there) and a flashing simile on the CB digital. Day 2 of cycle and on period.

My last few cycles have been 27 days (this month), 23 days (last month), 27 days (month before) 29 days (month before that)!!!!!

Looking at that, its not that bad as only 1 really short one but periods sometimes lasting 10 days (not full on periods for all that time).

Not been the same since having DC but not sure if that's down to that or just my age generally!

MrsD0147 · 03/08/2019 21:24

I know @flissity bad timing but he is back tomorrow night so will just have to start them and hopefully not too late this month!

flissity · 03/08/2019 22:36

Don't they (opk) come up positive before the surge, so before ovulation? So you could be ok!

MrsD0147 · 04/08/2019 07:58

Yes I think they do but wasn’t exactly sure how far before they do but fingers crossed - he will have to ignore his tiredness and hangover and get on with it haha!!

flissity · 04/08/2019 08:05

Are you using cheap internet ones? They are what I have, wasn't sure about reliability!

MrsD0147 · 04/08/2019 08:07

Ye they are just some off amazon but I do use the Flo app as well which is predicting ovulation on Wednesday but my cycles do vary a bit so I think that’s only a rough guess too! How long have you been ttc? I feel like it’s all I think about at the minute

Tamalama · 04/08/2019 08:09

@kenhomsbestwok have you been to see your gp about your cycles/period lengths?
If your due to ov whilst you're on your period I guess that could make dtd a bit tricky?
