@Gembo25 I would just take it as an odd period then and keep testing!

Gembo25 · 13/08/2019 12:24

@mumofbun yeah that's what have put it down to as no line on hcg test. Will jus keep testing and hopefully this is my month 🤞🤞 xx

AmIseeingRight · 13/08/2019 12:24

👋👋 hi

TTC #2 (DC1 is 3)
Cycle #2
CD 17, 1DPO
AF/BFP due 25/26
Holding off testing until 25 will take willpower. Wasn't trying with DC1 so didn't have the TWW such #bliss coz this TWW has taken over my life 🤣🤣🤣.

Sophieb15 · 13/08/2019 12:26

We will all help each other get through the TWW and NO EARLY TESTING Smile

Can't wait to see how many BFP's there will be this month.

TTC #4
Age 38 (tomorrow! Eeeek!)
Cycle #1 - came off pill June 27th and not had a period at all. No sign. Nothing. No BFP. Not tried OPK yet but may do soon!
Been tracking symptoms on an app but until I get a period I've no idea when and if I'm ovulating.
DP and I have just been having regular sex and hoping for the best lol. I'm exhausted now though 😂😂😂

Lauralozzle · 13/08/2019 12:50

@Sophieb15 good idea!

TTC #1
Age: 31
Cycle: #3
CD: 16

So, Positive opk from CD14 evening (negative that morning) and peak positive CD15. Nearly positive opks (only tiny fraction lighter than control line) CD16 this morning so counting them as negative.

Managed to DTD cd 10, 13, 14 and 16 (1:00AM so can’t really count that as yesterday even though if feels like yesterday!) Will try again today if I have the energy (I will find the energy)

Had heaviness/twinges/mild cramping at about 11:00 this morning- reckon that was probably ovulation today.

Temp dip yesterday, tiny rise this morning but still low compared to before the dip. I bloody get a temp rise in the morning otherwise my body is trolling me. Cramps must be for a reason!

Tamalama · 13/08/2019 12:58

My stats are the following:

TTC #2
Age 38
Cycle #5
CD 24
AF due on 16th according to Ovia, Fitbit and Period Tracker but 21st on Flo!! 🤔

FRER tests are due to arrive today but I'm just going to stick them in a cupboard, I promise! I don't have anyone to give them to as no one knows we're ttc...

Sophieb15 · 13/08/2019 13:46

I had bad O pain yesterday on my right side(seems to be worse pain when i release an egg from that side for some reason) but today now i'm having stabbing pains in my left side. I've just read that it is possible to release an egg from both ovaries. That surely doubles my chance this month does it??

VERY INTERESTING

What is multiple ovulation/hyperovulation?
What is multiple ovulation?
A woman can have multiple ovulations in a single cycle. This means that several eggs (most often two) are released from the ovaries. However, both eggs will be released within 24h from the first one. This is also known as hyperovulation.

When does this occur?
As stated above, the eggs will be released within 24h from each other. There are no exceptions on this unless you have a second uterus. This is since after ovulation the body produces the hormone progesterone, which has two purposes:
• Inhibits your body from ovulating again (for example, the mini pill has progesterone in it to prohibit you from ovulating)
• Promote fetal growth during the first trimester (if conception took place).

What happens in the ovaries?
In most women, the ovaries take turns in the releasing of an egg. When hyperovulation occurs, both of the ovaries release an egg in the same cycle.

What causes it?

There are 4 common causes of why hyperovulation occurs:
• Genetics. It is common that fraternal twins run in the family on the mother's side. This is due to the fact that some women are prone to hyperovulation.
• Medical conditions. Women with PCOS may not always have periods. The following cycle may very likely have hyperovulation.
• Medical treatments. When women are undergoing IVF treatment or want to donate her eggs, she is given hormonal stimulants to have hyperovulation. The eggs are then removed to either be fertilized or donated.
• Recently been on hormonal contraception. Hormonal contraception mainly works to prohibit ovulation from occurring, so when the woman’s body is trying to get back to ”normal”, she’s more likely to have hyperovulation.

How will the algorithm know if I had multiple ovulations?
The algorithm will not detect if you have hyperovulation as your temperature work in the same way regardless. Hyperovulation is only detected by ultrasound and/or when pregnant with fraternal twins.

However, it does not matter for the algorithm if you have hyperovulation or not, since it will give you at least 1 red day after your ovulation is confirmed. Most often, it is your second or third high temperature that confirms ovulation and gives you green days, and by then the egg(-s) have already died since they have a 24h lifespan.

10DPO today and I have zero symptoms, not even the usual sore boobs that have normally kicked in by now. Not testing until tomorrow/Thursday but I really don't feel hopeful this cycle :(

lorns01 · 13/08/2019 14:26

While we're all waiting for our BFPs, does anyone have any stories to share about people who've conceived naturally after more than 6 months of trying? Hoping it'll help me keep a positive mindset🤞
Age 40
TTC #2 for 7 months

Sophieb15 · 13/08/2019 14:34

@lorns01 A woman I was speaking to on another thread just got her BFP last month with her 2nd she's 39 and it only took her 4 months.

Once your in late 30's early 40s they said to go to doctor if you haven't conceived in 6 months. Have you booked a doc appointment or are you waiting to see how this month goes.

OP posts:
Sophieb15 · 13/08/2019 14:39

@Ohana6419 Try wait until you are late to test if you can A BFN is worse.
No symptoms would be a good sign to me If you normally get them before AF is due. I get PMS up to a week before so I'm hoping for a pain free TWW and a nice BFP at the end of it.

OP posts:
NamiSwan · 13/08/2019 15:00

My stats are the following:

TTC #3
Age 34
Cycle #3
CD 20

Just did another OPK and it was definitely positive so looks like I need to get DTD again tonight and tomorrow. I'll be glad for the TWW to be honest, and a little break from DTD Blush We've been DTD every other day since CD 10 and every day since CD 17 and I'm knackered!!!

@lorns01 a very close friend of mine had her first baby last year, after trying for 18 months. Because she was aged less than 35, she couldn't see a GP about it till she'd been trying for a year. She had had PCOS in the past so thought it might be that but it turned out she was ok, but her DP had low sperm count. They were in the middle of getting further tests etc when she fell pregnant naturally and now her DD is 14 months old!

lorns01 · 13/08/2019 15:17

Hi @Sophieb15 my DH is going for sperm testing on Thursday (sorry I don't know the abbreviation for this 😂) so if he's ok, I'll go to the docs next week. Any idea what first step they'll take?
Awwww, big congrats for the BFP. Always nice to hear a success story

Sophieb15 · 13/08/2019 15:58

@lorns01 I'm not sure I'm pretty sure they have to test your egg supply first and maybe blood tests to make sure your Ovulating.

I think I have ENDO getting really bad O pain and PMS and it only seems to be since after DC1 I had the implant for nearly 3 years and since getting it out in Jan I've been getting the bad pain. My doctor has a ultrasound appointment ready for me I just wanted to wait until after holidays before I went because I've to pay for it. So this is month 7 for me going on hols in 4 weeks so If I don't get a BFP this month or when I come back from hols in Sept then I will go for the scan.

Hey all can I join?

Moving over from Netmums after their big login disaster and I am bursting to talk TTC! Haven't figured out how to use this app yet so I might be posting in the wrong place!

Cycle 1 TTC # 2
AF/BFP 22/23rd Aug

I'm 27 and we're going for the infamous 18 month age gap. Would have liked to have waited a little longer but for health reasons the longer we wait the harder it'll be so we're just going for it!

Sophieb15 · 13/08/2019 17:25

Welcome@jaysnr Yes you have come to the right place Are you doing OPK's?

OP posts:
Tamalama · 13/08/2019 17:58

My tests have arrived. I thought 2 packs of 2 tests was going to be 4 tests, but I've been sent 8 tests! 😱🤦‍♀️🙈 totally didn't want that many 😂

lorns01 · 13/08/2019 18:21

@Sophieb15 hope you have a great holiday - anywhere nice?
When are you due to ov this month? I'm due in the next few days. Will the scan confirm if you have ENDO?

wannabemum38 · 13/08/2019 18:23

Hi thought I would join this thread too as so many in same boat. Im also on the over 35 thread as well

My stats
TTC #1
Cycle 1
CD18
3DPO
AF/BFP (big fat positive) due 24th August
Age 38 (39 next month)

Got my positive OPK on Friday 9th could only DTD Saturday evening and Sunday managed it a few times. I may have missed the boat this month although pretty sure I ovulated saturday as had CM
The legs in the air thing is meant to be a myth however my best mate said she tried it on her third cycle and got pregnant that month so I gave it a shot!

jaysnr · 13/08/2019 18:56

@Sophieb15 I was using the clearblue OPKs this month, it got to the day I was expecting the static smiley then my OH was giving DS a bath and dropped the entire thing in the water! After seeing 7 flashing smileys and waiting to see if I finally ovulated I wasn't impressed! Got a positive on the cheapies so I think I'm 2-3dpo now! Last time I was TTC I tested like crazy so this time I'm aiming more for a more zen approach Grin

Sophieb15 · 13/08/2019 18:58

@Tamalama stay strong 💪

@lorns01 they should be able to see it with an internal scan 🙈 it's weird though because it's only one side seems to be really bad during o time when I o on the other side it's just like a stabbing pain.
