BBT for first baby

I just started temping this cycle and think I ov'd two days ago as had a temp rise yesterday however I had such a broken sleep last night, slept past my alarm so didn't temp this morning in view to actually mark it down. I was really just wondering if your normal temperature during the day or not at rest will be higher after ovulation as well as your bbt? Mine was significantly higher than usual so just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this, Google has been no help

When measuring bbt you need to do it when you wake up, first thing without moving / speaking. Taking it in the day won't mean anything as you've been moving around.

I tend to do mine first thing when I wake up, even if it's not the exact time I usually do it. You can discard the temperature or on fertility friend you enter the time you took it, so it will highlight it wasn't your usual time but you'll still see a rough pattern.
