Period after miscarriage

I had a MMC in May (found out at 12 week scan) and D&C the day after (25th May). I haven't had a period since but had bloods to confirm Hcg had all gone on 8th July. I'm pretty sure I ovulated on Friday or Saturday last week (had lh surge on Thursday) but also had a surge on 15th July.... god knows what's going on! (DTD 14th, 17th and 18th with hope that I was actually ovulating)

I had all my usual ovulation symptoms ,on Fri/Sat but also had stinking 48hr cold. Had pink cm on Tuesday and light bleeding (brown/orangey colour, sorry tmi) with lower back ache ache and 3 sharp sort of stabbing pains yesterday afternoon, the bleeding stopped and has started again just now. It's not heaving, just when wiping, but I've got very mild period type aches.

I'm wondering if I'm just having a v light period 9 weeks after MC? Has anyone had a similar experience? I wish I'd stated temping now so might have been able to get a better picture instead of feeling so confused.

Firstly sorry for your loss. I'd be more inclined to think it was your period. Be prepared it may get worse.

My period took 9.5 weeks to return. I didn't ovulate during that time.

You say you got the LG surge twice, perhaps your body geared up to ovulate but didn't actually ovulate.

The one thing I learned is that your body will take its time to return to Normal. You may feel more symtoms you weren't aware of beforehand.

I'm now 9 months on, still not pregnant and my body has just returned to 2 day periods which are not heavy, just waiting to go back to 27 day cycles.

I understand in your head you just want to be pregnant again however your body has to equally be ready.

Good luck ❤️

Hi I’m so sorry for your loss Flowers

Have you taken a HPT? I’m only saying this because I had a similar thing happen two Lh surges and ovulated on my second one. I too had a miscarriage on the 10th June and 8 days after ovulation I started spotting. Well I thought it was my period starting and my cycle was all out of wack but it stayed really light only when wiping and I’m pregnant again. Was told it was left over blood from the miscarriage coming away and had a scan on Tuesday that showed a new six week pregnancy exactly six and a half weeks after miscarriage. It may not be that but certainly something to check in a couple of days x

Thanks for your comments.

@Michellebops I'm telling myself it's my period, I just thought that due to MC being 9 weeks ago that it would be heavier, unless it's just taking it's time to get going!

@Ginmonkey84 I haven't done a hpt. I'm assuming it's my period but I'll do one next weekend, that way (in theory) I'd get a decent positive if I am pregnant instead of a squinter! Got positive on first response at start of this month but it turned out to be left over hcg, I'd been using ic tests to check it had gone but they'd not picked up the low level and first response did Confused

Same with me. I had hcg of 5 and was still picked up. It's just as heartbreaking as a miscarriage.
