Myo Insitol / Folic Acid for PCOS

Hi everyone

I have PCOS and although I'm trying to sort the symptoms out naturally and get my periods back, I've been reading into taking Myo-Insitol and Folic Acid.

There seems to be a lot of positive research for this supplement. I've read the dosage is 2000mg (or 2g) of Myo Insitol and 200 micrograms of Folic Acid.

Has anyone used this and if so, what happened?

Also wondering which brands you used? And whether it was in powder or capsule form?

Xx

You should be taking folic acid when TTC anyway as it helps prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida.

I don't have PCOS but did have some of the symptoms including long & irregular cycles - my acupuncturist recommended myo-inositol and I don't know whether it was that or the acupuncture (or a combination, or sheer coincidence!) but my cycles regulated down to 28-30 days.

Would definitely recommend. I buy Viridian myoinositol on Amazon as that's the brand my acupuncturist recommended. It's a powder and has the folic acid in too so you don't need an additional supplement. I felt like I could taste it in water (it's sweet) so usually have it in squash.

Good luck! xx

@LexyLouSJ I've been using it for around four mo this and slowly my cycle is reducing. The dose for PCOS is a higher dose of 4g though. I've been taking 3g. I take

Or even four months...

I take inofolic after a recommendation by my gynaecologist. I have pco but not pcos. Until I started taking it in May, I tended to ovulate day 21-23ish, first month was day 12, last month day 18 and this month day 17. So it has reduced it (i think it’s this, I did start agnus cactus in April which may also be impacting cycle) and also I have an increase in ewcm around ovulation.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks @ivf2019 that's exactly the bottle I've ordered from amazon. I see it's got exactly the right doses too, thank you for recommending.

Think I will supplement it in and see how I get on. I haven't heard of any bad side effects from taking it..

Xx
