Bizarre results on cb opk

Hello, got cb digital opk on recommendations from others on here, especially August bus, but had some really weird results and don't know if I have broken it, or whether I am just really peculiar.

Started testing cd9 and just blank circles, then cd12 , Saturday, went straight to static smile, but then it disappeared. Had a look at the stick after ejecting too and there was definitely a strong second line.

Tested again this morning and blank circle, very faint second line. Tried again after a couple of hours of holding my wee and even weaker line and blank circle.

What does this mean? I tried Googling and found nothing. I have followed all instructions, so rely confused. Was there an egg? Where did it go? Do we still have a chance of an April baby?

This is our sixth month of trying and first using opks. Any advice would be amazing, please.

I've used clearblue digital for years and have had the same thing happen to be before

Are you using the dual hormone one? It's likely that you just had a very quick short LH surge hence why you want straight to the static smiley

You got a blank one afterwards because your surge was over and also because the digital holder is designed for use over several days and show a peak reading when it detects LH 5x that of previous readings. Once it detects the surge and shows the peak smiley face then it resets itself - your next reading was blank because it wasn't detecting 5x the previous test (because it was already really high)

Hope that makes sense - basically don't tests after you've got your peak one

Thank you @itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted

Do you know what a short quick LH surge means? Is pregnancy possible? We didn't have a chance to DTD Sat as had work/houseguest so thought I had blown it for this month and was gutted
DTD Fri and this morning though, so is there still a chance? First month using opks so a bit confused xx

Some people's LH surge can last a few hours and others it can be a day or more - the important thing is that between 12-36 hours after you get your peak reading your likely to ovulate so would DTD the day you get the peak and day after but really it's the day or two before the peak you're most likely to have success

I swore by my digital for years but when I moved on to ivf they won't let you use them as my clinic said they've found they often detect the LH surge late. So with a lot of grumbling I tried the cheap test trips and actually they are much better - there are lots of apps like Premom where you can take a photo of the strip and it lines them up for comparison and will also tell you whether it thinks it's low/high/peak and also plot on a graph and tell you your most likely ovulation day

Thank you so much. I got really worried that my egg was incredibly short lived ad it appeared and disappeared so quickly and then it was just a blank circle. I had no flashing smile either.

Did ivf work out for you? I hope it did/does. I might try the cheaper ones and the app although you've reassured me that there's still a chance this cycle. Day twelve seemed early to me as I have 27 or 29 day cycles x

My cycle is 29 days too and I ovulate anywhere from day 12 to day 17 - all within ok parameters (you don't want less than 10 days between ovulation and period) so you're definitely still in with a Chance this month

Ivf did work sort of.....unfortunately ended in a second ectopic so I've had have both my tubes removed now - we ll be trying ivf again in September 🤞

Oh I'm sorry to hear about your ectopics. I hopevit works for you this time. The process is horrible x
