Two weeks ago I had unprotected sex and my period is now 5 days late. I usually get extremely sore breasts, headaches and sharp cramps on my period. However, this month it’s different, my period is never usually late and I’ve no symptoms of my period. I have slight cramps but the pain is so faint. I do have discharge but no period. I know the only way to find out is to get a test but I’ve no way into town to get one until Monday. Any mums out there think this sounds familiar ?

@confused101xx unfortunately the symptoms are so similar and everyone can have totally different experiences (even between their own pregnancies)
Is there no way you can pop out to do a test

Your normally ovulate 14 days before your period so if you're 5 days late your unprotected probably wouldn't have been in fertile period unless you have short cycles of a short lp

🤞🏻 you get the answer you want

It does sound like you might be as you would have been at your most fertile. If you are regular normally then 5 days is late. I remember I got achy feeling as it bedded in and even slight bleed when early pregnant. Get a test as soon as you canFlowers

Sorry meant this re dates
Ovulation happens about 14 days before your period starts. If your average menstrual cycle is 28 days, you ovulate around day 14, and your most fertile days are days 12, 13 and 14. If your average menstrual cycle is 35 days ovulation happens around day 21 and your most fertile days are days 19,20 and 21
Hope that makes sense

Why not just take a test? 🙄

confused101xx · 20/07/2019 18:41

@MissingTheMissletoe as I stated originally I’ve no way into town to get a pregnancy test until Monday because I don’t drive. I’m starting to panic and was wondering if I could put my mind at ease using this forum. Thanks for your input tho

@confused101xx I think the comment was purely because you'll get people reply and say yes that is exactly how I felt and others thought they were then got their period as symptoms are so similar it's difficult to say.
If you really want to know ASAP is there no one who can collect one for you/amazon next day (at least 1 day earlier) also often local shops/pharmacies sell so maybe one in walking distance?
Completely understand none of those might be an option I wish (as I'm sure many others do) that you would get a symptoms and know whether it was period or pregnant but it could be either 😩

If you've been stressed poorly or away your period could be late, or could be a random one, could be pregnant but based on your dates like I said unless you have really short cycles of short lp. (Which you'd only know if you tested for ovulation) you probably wouldn't have been fertile 9 days before your period.

Hope you get the answer you want but unfortunately you won't know until you test, what you've said you could be pregnant or you might not

Hope you got the answer you wanted Flowers

The fact that your period is 5 days late is a strong but not definite indicator. Everyone has different symptoms or lack of symptoms. A test is the only way forward. Could you either order a test online ( go for pink ones) or ask a friend to grab you one. Good luck
