Hi all! I recently had a blood test as my AF has been absent now for 2 months, well results came back today being 'a hormone imbalance' with a certain hormone linked to PCOS being slightly more raised than they had liked. I'm gutted to say the least!! I just wanted some positive stories of people conceiving having PCOS??? Thanks xx

My SIL tried for 4 years, told it was near enough impossible to conceive with her case of PCOS. She went on a healthy diet, gymed it, lost a good bit of weight, within a year she was pregnant. She now has 3 kids! It’s possible lovey x

clarissa469 · 19/07/2019 21:51

Within a year of the diet she started on the 4th year may i add!

Beckyttc · 19/07/2019 21:58

Hi have PCOS and got pregnant after after about 15 months of trying, it unfortunately turned out to be ectopic but nothing to do with PCOS so it is possible! All the doctors ever say it too lose weight but obviously it can be very difficult with this condition!

Currently in my TWW, good luck!

I got diagnosed with pcos when I was In my 20's I have a 4 year old son and a 2 month old daughter, naturally . I watched what I ate and lost weight . Took conception tablets and got pregnant. It does happen it's just tricky trying to work out your cycles due to hormone imbalance

longtimelurkerfirsttimeposter · 19/07/2019 22:56

I have PCOS, one 20 month old and another on the way, it will happen it may take longer. I'd recommend looking up Inofolic for PCOS. Best of luck x

I have PCOS. It was not easy but we finally ended up with two dc. I was prescribed metformin which really helped me to lose weight. Eating a low GI diet can really help PCOS. I have a friend that also has PCOS and tried for over ten years to get pregnant. She then gave up hope and adopted two children. Three years after the second adoption she fell pregnant and then two years after she had that baby she became pregnant again. She now has four beautiful children 😊

Victoria Beckham and Jools Oliver both have PCOS. It doesn't mean that you won't be able to have children it just might take a little longer.

I have PCOS and have 2 girls 14 and 12. When I came off the pill to start trying I didn’t have a period for 2 years, was diagnosed with PCOS and started on Clomid - fell pregnant straight away. The second time I fell pregnant naturally

ellie1878 · 20/07/2019 08:18

Thanks so much for all of your replies it really has put my mind at ease!! Definitely working on the diet and going to look into the inofolic too! Onwards and upwards, hopefully get BFP soon xx

I went on a mainly plant based diet (I'm vegetarian so low carb didn't work for me) to lose some weight, my cycles were all over the place but I conceived on the first try after I'd had a 'normal' 28ish day cycle. I did take pregnacare supplements, use PreSeed and ovulation sticks as well. There's lots of positive stories out there, but it might take a few lifestyle changes, time or speaking to your GP for further support/medication

Catconfusion · 20/07/2019 08:54

I fell pregnant the first two times I tried after monitoring my temperatures for three months previous with Ovusense. Unfortunately a missed miscarriage and early miscarriage but probably just bad luck rather than pros related. Since then my cycles have been a bit messed up but I'm hoping to be back to normal soon. My cycles are 28 - 56 days and pretty irregular. It's completely possible you are still ovulating therefore it's a case of figuring out when its going to happen. Ovusense is very good for tracking cycles and very accurate so I'd definitely recommend! Good luck. xx

I have PCOS. I conceived my first without trying Blush second took 8 weeks. Currently 13 weeks pregnant with my third and that has taken 2 years of trying and 3 miscarriages.
Try to stay as positive as possible. I am sending you all the love and luck Flowers

Catconfusion · 31/10/2019 08:28

Ladies just an update from me. I fell pregnant a few days after my last post. I'm now 16 weeks. Pco/pcos can make it a bit trickier but totally possible to fall pregnant reasonably quickly. As I said before just figuring out when the best time is can be the challenge, either that or dtd a few times a week to cover all bases. Good luck! Xx

SleepingStandingUp · 31/10/2019 08:38

Struggled to conceive with No1 until I lost some weight. Not massed and actually was still overweight but it def made a difference. He's 4.5 and bloody noisy now 😂😂

With No2 I was given Clomid to help me ovulate and caught in the second cycle with meticulous sex planning. THEY are due Jan (and identical so not true Clomid twins)

Catconfusion · 31/10/2019 08:53

That's brilliant @SleepingStandingUp I fully anticipated needing clomid. Definitely with you on finding the optimum weight. I was under weight but had put on a fair amount before we started trying so have a feeling it helped. When I was younger I really worried I'd find it difficult to fall pregnant due to my pco and two month cycles. In reality I've been pregnant 3 times at 39/40 years old in 9 months. Yes we went through two losses but it's amazing to be in this position so quickly. I would never have imagined it would happen like this. Xx

clutchingon · 31/10/2019 09:23

I have 4 children. All conceived easily. Low carb diet works for me.

Getterfeck · 31/10/2019 09:36

Got my PCOS diagnosis officially on Friday last week but had suspected for a while. I started eating low carb the month before.

After the official diagnosis on Friday I kind of grieved. I felt like that was it and there was no hope left.

This morning, this happened Confused

I can’t be excited because I’ve had miscarriages, but there is absolutely always hope Flowers

Pcos positive stories!!

I was diagnosed with Pcos after ttc for a year with no luck. Prescribed metformin and after taking it for a couple of cycles have just had my bfp Smile. It can happen!!

FinnBalorsAbs · 31/10/2019 10:16

Another one who was prescribed metformin here. I had two healthy babies within two years even though I was an 'overweight and geriatric mother' (doctors are charmers). Finally got to grips with GI and carbs and lost six and a half stone after I gave birth with my second and it's totally changed my PCOS symptoms / horrible periods etc. I'm of even more advancing years now though - having two toddlers at 40 was quite an experience!

Hopefully this whole thread of positivity has reassured you - it's all possible. Flowers for those going through it right now.

yellowallpaper · 31/10/2019 10:17

My friend is pregnant with her third ivf baby

ellie1878 · 31/10/2019 11:25

It's so lovely to see updates like this!! I'm going into month 8 ttc now but after my last 3 periods being 30 days apart exactly I've got more hope now than ever ❤️ fingers crossed for a Christmas BFP🤞🏼

I found out I had PCOS in April 2018 after not conceiving for almost a year. Just after stopping the pill the first year or so was terrible tbh. I had the excess hair and acne as well as I wasn't ovulating, I got depressed and piled on the weight. Kept trying but nothing was happening. Referred to the fertility clinic and was actually advised to start the pill again because my acne was so severe it was really effecting my mental health.

So I went back on it for 6-7 months and it took away the constant 'Am I pregnant' thoughts every month. I started going to the gym a lot and I lost 10 kgs. Got into a healthy BMI, started taking vitamins, inositol and copious amounts of spearmint tea (which is proven to lower testosterone levels). We got a little puppy that we call our baby lol Smile. Started going out and enjoying life a lot more etc.

I then stopped the pill 2 months ago and we weren't trying but I wanted to see how my body reacted. I have no acne (yet..?), and I had two perfect 28 day cycles with ovulation after having cycles 60 days plus and no ovulation! We just found out last weekend that we are pregnant. 4 weeks and 1 day today. We did not expect it at all. It was hell and back to get here and it's still a long road but it can happen. We were just about to start fertility treatment.

Good luck op ❤️❤️
