Morning all! Had a nice lie in and time spent with DH this morning after almost a week!

@FlapJackered sorry to hear the SA results weren't great, but I'm glad you're able to get some answers now. Sounds like you're on the track to help it, now. I hope the consultant has the answers to your questions/a plan at your next appointment!

@Anny27 I'll be keeping everything crossed next weekend for you then!! Yup, I'm on CD6 today, last day of AF yesterday. I thought I saw some EWCM this morning strangely. DTD anyway just in case.
Yes I've got irregular periods, unfortunately. They usually range from 33-37 days, but it was 58 days on the cycle just gone! Are you fairly regular?

@ValidUser that's great news!!

@MIW01 that must be so useful to know when you've ovulated. I don't get any ovulation pain (that I've noticed) so only use OPKs and temping to help predict. GP advised us to DTD every other day as well, but it didn't seem realistic, especially Jen DH's shift patterns at work. We're going to give it a go this cycle though.

So me and DH had a go with PreSeed this morning. When I pulled the applicators out I thought he was going to fall off the bed in horror, because he had no clue what they were for 😂😂 anyway, we went without applicators and it wasn't too messy. Hope they help!

It's such a lovely sunny day here! Hope you all have a brilliant Saturday 😊

Back on Monday for a scan. Hoping to trigger soon!

ValidUser · 20/07/2019 11:50

@raveena1984 welcome! It's such early days. The pressure is awful, though. X

raveena1984 · 20/07/2019 12:07

tq 😄

ELW85 · 20/07/2019 12:10

@ValidUser - happy anniversary!! What have you got planned? And thank you for the good vibes :) x

@LokiCat - morning in bed are the best! I hope DH has recovered from the sight of the applicator and what followed 😂

Welcome, @raveena1984 - definitely still early days, but we all understand how nerve wracking a time it can be. These ladies are wonderful for support so you’re in the right place.

ABR87 · 20/07/2019 12:14

Hi all - I have a question. I came off the pill in November as we were TTC. 8 months later and still nothing. However, my cycle has been anything from 38 to 26 days long and doesn't show any signs of evening out. We just have sex as much as we can all through the month between periods (which is a whole other stress issue) & I'm tracking everything on an app so I know we've had sex over my ovulation window each month. My question is - should we see a doctor before the year is up (recommended by the NHS) due to my weird cycle, as something else could be wrong?

ValidUser · 20/07/2019 12:32

@ABR87 I'm not NHS, but I am a doctor. I think most would check you out on the weird cycles alone. Worth a try!

Maisy24 · 20/07/2019 13:00

Well I've just done a test this morning at 11dpo and BFN I am really fed up of this every months.

@ABR87 I'm the same as you I came off my pill in July last year and my cycles are different every month, from 28 to day 44 and I've still not come on this month.

It's really stressful, the month I had my tests done at the doctors my cycle was perfect so they said there is nothing wrong with me and to keep trying Sad

Xxx

Larrydavid · 20/07/2019 13:50

Guys, having a minor freak out. I'm trying to be chilled about this whole process but am very aware that it can take ages to conceive. I'm 35, I have endometriosis and now with the wedding late next year, we're going to keep trying until december then will have to stop for a few months (I've been told my dress can be adjusted down a couple
of sizes but not up 😱) and now I'm freaking out that if we don't have a baby before the wedding I'm going to be 37 when we start trying again. Which I know isn't a million years old but just feels like everything I read always talks about the 35 year cut off. Bleughhhhh. Anyway, reckon this freak out will pass but when you have specific timelines, everything just feels a bit much.

Sorry for long post! Hope you're all having nice weekends.

ABR87 · 20/07/2019 14:34

Thanks @ValidUser and @Maisy24 :)

Maybe I'll make an appointment. It's so hard to feel like something isn't wrong when everyone seems to get pregnant within a month or so of trying - and the NHS website to go and see them if it's been a YEAR (an eternity). These forums help though, thanks!

ELW85 · 20/07/2019 15:40

@Maisy24 - really sorry to hear about your BFN. I know it’s disheartening but take comfort that your tests were promising. Are you due any more tests soon or will it be a while for another referral?

@Larrydavid - no need to apologise, this is the very comfortable home of freak outs!!
If you want my honest opinion, I’d keep trying throughout all of it. The bridal shop will let you exchange your dress and I think you’d be happier in the long run with netting a BFP rather than worry about time.
That said, lots of ladies do have healthy pregnancies past 35 so whatever you choose, it will happen and you will be fine :)

Eventrider1 · 20/07/2019 15:59

@ABR87 I know exactly how you feel. We had been trying for 9 months and my DH was desperate to go to the drs but ours wouldn’t intervene until we had been trying for 2 years. But then again, up until May, my cycles had always been 28 days so I didn’t have any irregularities.
Will keep fingers crossed that it happens for you soon!

ABR87 · 20/07/2019 16:31

@Eventrider1
TWO years?! Good grief, I can't wait that long. How frustrating for us all. My fingers are crossed for you too!

Macbless · 20/07/2019 19:18

@Eventrider1 congratulations- lovely news. Hope you feel well and things go really smoothly.

@Larrydavid i totally understand. My DP and I got engaged June last year when I was 35. I wanted to get married a few months later so we could start trying for a baby straight away. In the end we decided to have a larger wedding in May this year and then start. I’ll be 37 in September and it is a bit daunting to think i’m so far over 35. But I absolutely loved my wedding day and being with all our friends and family. I don’t regret it at all. I’m only on cycle 3 now but I kind of think things happen for a reason. You’ve got a lot of time between now and December. Wait and see how you feel then. My guess is you’ll very probably have conceived by then and if not you can have another think about priorities xxx

Anny27 · 20/07/2019 19:43

@ValidUser happy wedding anniversary :) are you doing anything to celebrate?

@LokiCat i am sort of regular. Usually between 28-31 days but have had the odd occasion where i have had a 37 day cycle and as little as a 23. So who knows haha! Ooh yep good that you managed to DTD at the sight of EWCM!

Yep DH said "wow it looks so medical" when he saw the preseed applicators haha!

@maisy24 fingers crossed for shorter cycle next time!

Imjustme2019 · 21/07/2019 08:43

Morning ladies,

@Lozzlepop, how are you feeling?

@ELW85 so my app now predicts I calculated cd17 my length of cycles are regular, differ by a day or two at most, but my ovulation day seems to move between cd11 and this one CD17, strange, but at least I know so we can time things better.

My DP isn't on any vitamins he finds especially zinc makes him feel sick when taking, he's not the healthiest of eaters, any suggestions?

ELW85 · 21/07/2019 09:21

Morning all!
How's everyone's weekends going? I'm just getting ready to head off and see the MiL for a catch-up, God help us all Grin

@Imjustme2019 - your Ov date can move around quite a lot, but rarely your LP so if you Ov later, maybe you'll have a slightly longer cycle?
Vitamin wise, does he take them on a full stomach, with his main meal? It helps for absorption and it might make him stop feeling as queasy.
The Wellman vitamins are a really good combo, and they have CoQ10 in too.

Lozzlepop · 21/07/2019 09:22

Morning ladies

@ValidUser I hope you had a lovely wedding anniversary ☺️

@Larrydavid I wouldn’t worry too much about age as these days a lot of women go on to have healthy pregnancies at over 35. I’m 35 at the mo so I deffo won’t be having a baby now until I’m at least 36 but it’s just the hand I’ve been dealt in life ☺️

@PippaPug I hope you have had the most amazing and memorable wedding weekend lovely!!

@Imjustme2019 I’m doing ok thanks hun just can’t believe we are here again 🙈 just want to fast forward the next few weeks so we can try again 🤞🏻 How are you getting on? I know @ELW85 suggested COQ10 as a good one for the guys to take so I’m thinking of getting my OH to take them!

Sunshine8888 · 21/07/2019 11:05

Well now on CD4 and AF seems to have vanished completely! CB instructions say if you don’t know the length of your cycle start testing from CD10. It does also say though that you recommend waiting at least two natural cycles before using so I might lock them away for now. It’s a lot of £££ to waste!

Larrydavid · 21/07/2019 16:20

@ELW85 thank you. I think I'm feeling much better today. You're right - it will happen at some point. I think I can fall into internet black holes sometimes about age. How are you doing?

@Macbless thanks - I feel better knowing others are in a similar situation. Sounds like you're in a good place to have a baby now! Hope it happens quickly for you.

@Lozzlepop thank you for the reassurance too. I felt a bit overwhelmed with everything yesterday but am feeling much better today. I hope you're doing ok and had a relaxing weekend.

ELW85 · 21/07/2019 16:35

@Larrydavid - totally understandable! I think we’re all guilty of internet black holes :) really pleased to hear you’re feeling better though!
I’m good thank you; took another test today (and one more to take before the early reassurance scan) and it showed 2-3 weeks pregnant, which was great to see, so fingers crossed everything keeps going in the right direction.
I really need to stop temping though, so I put my thermometer away today.

Maisy24 · 21/07/2019 16:56

@ELW85 glad to hear everything is looking well for you! I definitely think putting the thermometer away is a great idea, you need to just relax now and enjoy rather than stressing (i know it's easier said than done!) xxx

@Larrydavid hello, just wanted to say try to relax and not think time is getting away, my friend is 38 and within 4 months of ttc she's pregnant with twins naturally; the hospital said twins are more likely the later you leave it as our body starts to release more than one egg, so I'd say that's a really positive thing about trying later on! Oh also I'm 30 and I have been ttc for a year and nothing! Age isn't as big of a deal as they make out Smile xxx

Larrydavid · 21/07/2019 16:58

@ELW85 that's great - sounds like it's totally going in the right direction - hopefully your scan will put your mind at ease and you can relax into the pregnancy a bit more after it. The thermometer going away is probably a good thing too- I think it's such a tough balance - being in control and having information vs obsessively monitoring/ searching for signs. I never know what's best - which becomes evident each month when it's time to test! 🙈
