just rang up specialist to see if i needed to take a sample today and they havent had dh's porn pot results back, so our next appt is the 8th october! the doc is away thru sept and no-one else can see us.

oh god, dealing with anything that's not an outright emergency is a nightmare in summer, isn't it? so unfair...

my biggest prob with that is that my edd with my ep was the 1st oct, someone up theres having a laugh at my expense!

Oh God Lissie they are taking the piss. Bloody nhs just gets worse and worse. I know its expensive but once all tests are done could you see your consultant privately usually £100 per session.
I havent cancelled any of my nhs appointments even though we have started the ivf. As they kept cancelling them, I did have one for september but they cancelled it next appointment in 2008! Surprise surprise could get a private appointment next week! These consultants certainly make there money up.

Oh Lissie, this is so bloody unfair for you.

Think I'd be back on the phone, demanding to know what's going on, and why the results aren't back, where are they etc etc. You need a good explanation.

Having had my HSG two days before our anniversary, 6 days before EDD 1st birthday, it isn't something I'd recommend - having these kinds of appointments at such sensitive times.

Lissie I think it might be worth you talking to your PALS department at your hospital. I have refered people to them at work when they have had crap treatment. They might be able to help you find out whats going on and give people a kick up the bum. I think most trust have a PALS department I really think they might be able to help.

BTW: PALS is Patient Advice and Liaison Service. There will be one either at your hospital, or if you want to also try going for the jugular, your local PCT (Primary Care Trust).

I think part of the problem is that infertility isn't a life threatening condition, but there is no underestimating the damage it does to one's life. NICE guidelines recognise the impact, there needs to be greater awareness.

We all read about celebrity pregnancies... what about those who struggle?

thank you all, we are in the process of sueing the trust anyway because of the way they handled ds's birth so its all gone in my folder. tried to get an earlier appt at a different hospital but no go.
