Struggling to conceive

Is anyone else out there struggling to get pregnant for more than 12 months and undergoing tests etc? I am 30, never been pregnant before, and currently going through this. I thought it would be good to have a thread for others in the same boat so that we can support each other with the tests and what possibly comes next with a fertility clinic. Xx

TTC no1 and have my first appointment at the fertility clinic on Monday! Would be great to share with others going through the same thing !

Same here,TTC for 12 months.
We've both had tests and results all fine apparently 🤷🏼‍♀️
Now waiting for referral to the fertility clinic.

Fed up of it TBH! Seems like EVERYONE is pregnant!!

OMG thank God it isnt just me on here at this point! Same here with the tests, all seems fine although i am just waiting for my last blood test result and then its back to the doctor to be referred.

Do you know the process @twopinkies or do you find out Monday? Good luck with it and let me know how it goes.

Same here with everyone and their dog being pregnant. I also keep getting people making comments about me. My brother has had his second child this year and when i posted a pic of me holding him, a friend commented about how good i looked with a baby! Normally that wouldnt have any effect but because of what is happening it makes me want to cry!

I don't know what they plan on talking about really, my blood tests showed low progesterone but the doctor is leaving that to the fertility clinic to deal with! I'll let you know how I get on!!

Totally agree that EVERYONE seems to be pregnant , I've had to deactivate Facebook and Instagram sometimes because of it! Family wise there has been 4 pregnancies in the last year so no escaping it !! Looking forward to what's next though !

I guess fertility clinic is the best thing as they will be able to come up with options. Please do let me know how you get on once you've been.

Agreed on social media! It seems that you just cant get away from it. I got married last year so everyone just keeps asking and its infuriating. Haven't told anyone close really yet but might have to to stop them from reminding me constantly.

Hello ladies, I have been through what you have. That was a year ago - wow time flies! I ended up with ED and now I have a cute baby boy. Let me know if you need help - whatever happens remember everything will be just fine :)

@MrsTK1 Oh my apologies! It's just that they use the acronym in other forums, ED means egg donation. I totally understand how you must be so confused right now. I felt totally lost when I went through IVF. But these forums really helped me a lot. In my case I chose gender selection since my hubby wanted a baby boy. So we went to Cyprus. I'll just post the link here since it is kinda hard for me to retrace all the steps. Me too! 15 months ttc. Went to the GP on tuesday. They cant refer me to a fertility clinic because even though I've had 2 unsuccessful pregnancies, one of which I'm going through right now they count that as I conceived therefore it hasn't been 12 months of no success. The female body can be so so cruel!

@Naibear89 I'm sorry for your losses. I'd beep pushing to be referred. I had a mmc in April but the fertility clinic are still seeing me / investigating because I've been ttc for 18 months and although I concieved, haven't yet had a live birth. Check your local ccg guidelines x

Sorry everyone else is in a similar position @MrsTK1 @twopinkies @bunhead34 @Mrskkennedy. I had my first appointment in May (was about a 4 month wait) and been sent for an ultrasound, an hsg (dye in tubes test) and got a hysteroscopy in August (camera in uterus and possible removal if fibroids). Then back to see the consultant in September.

We're having a last ditch attempt at conceiving by doing smep this cycle, plus I'm temping and seeing a reflexologist in a couple of weeks.

@Naibear89 I'm so sorry to hear that. That doesn't seem fair!?! Have they said it will have to be a whole 12 months? I would go back if I were you.

@VenusStarr I'm pleased to hear things are progressing for you. Sounds promising although scary that it can take such a long time to even get an appointment. I get a lot pain throughout the month so I think there is something wrong with me stopping us conceiving so I hope they do the ultrasound etc on me.

I guess it's just a waiting game and we need to stay positive. It is difficult though when it's the only thing you want :(

Yup has to be a whole 12 months of no success at all!! Surely 2 un-sticky babies isnt 'success'. The worst bit is .. that I've not even bled yet. I explained to the gp that I had a faint positive and since then all negatives and she just said it's an unsuccessful pregnancy. They cant do any bloods until I've had this bleed because they need to do them 7 days before my next period. The whole thing is just so frustrating and extremely uncomfortable 😣😣

Hey everyone , hope you're all ok! Had my appointment today so I thought I'd give you all an update!

So they weighed us and took out blood pressure, asked us normal questions about cycle, habits etc, then went onto the results of the initial tests the doctor done. OH is absolutely fine, normal in all areas! Based on the info I gave her, and my high hormone levels , we done a scan which showed I have PCOS (strangely relieved to know what the issue may be)!

They have referred me for further blood tests and tests to make sure my tubes are open so just a waiting game now!

Can I join? TTC number 1 and feeling so frustrated. Aaaaall of my friends have babies and I feel well and truly sidelined out the ‘mums club’. Worse thzing is now some are already pregnant with no2 😩

@MrsTK1 yeah I do, I think it's easier knowing that it's treatable! I've been scaring myself on google about the hsg test but I'm sure I'll be fine- I'll defo keep you all updated !

I'm on the waiting list for fertility clinic - should be called in Oct (6month NHS waiting list in N.Ireland 🙄)

I've had a transvaginal exam - possible tin lining of uterus
21day bloods - low progesterone
Repeat 21 day bloods this Wednesday
All fine from DF's SA

And YES, I'm also sick of everyone around me pregnant!!!
