first time posting so hi 
I'm a week late which has never happened to me before, ever! for a few days, I've been getting faint positives on the one-step cheapie strips and I got a faint one of a frer (confirmed by a friend.) However, I did start to have some spotting. there was blood but it was more watery in consistency and now I have mostly old blood with dark bits in it. Nothing really comes out onto my pad, only when I wipe.
I called the doctors and they told me that a line is a line no matter how faint, and that this sort of thing can be normal. However, I am worried about miscarrying. They're seeing me on Thursday when I'd be estimated to be 6 weeks to do tests and if there still is a pregnancy then I'll have a scan the following day or Monday, depending on availability.
Has anyone had this before and had the pregnancy be successful? I know that many people get bright positives by this point but I also know that just as many don't. My mum was several weeks late before she got a faint positive herself. 
I'm just really worried I guess. I'm starting to think I've imagined the lines, even though my period is still not here (this doesn't classify as my period because it's nowhere near heavy enough.) I need some reassurance while I wait.
