Struggling to wait

Anyone in the same boat? Period due 19th, when is the earliest I can realistically test?

Don't think I can wait till 19th lol

Try your best to wait until your due date.

If you test too early and get a negative you'll just be annoyed at yourself for doing it and wasting money.

Every time I think about testing I say I'm going to put a pound in a jar which can pay for the tests.

Speaking from experience of testing early and often due to being convinced it's heartbreaking so I now wait.

I'm due 20th

Dia12 · 12/07/2019 17:35

Oh I'm the same boat too - due on 19th. I'm 5dpo today and have a short luteal phase and so hoping that doesn't scupper me.

I'm temping using Ava bracelet and temps are rising more smoothly than usual and this has been enough to get me carried away...although I haven't tested yet. Implantation would normally be happening around now so urine hcg levels would be too low.

I wish I had the patience to hold out until 19th!

Michellebops · 12/07/2019 18:45

@Dia12 is doesn't sound like too much of a short luteal phase.

Good luck

Doll34 · 12/07/2019 19:30

I'm in the same boat. Also due on 19th. I have one of those early detection tests which can apparently be used 6 days before your period which would be Sunday but I'm tempted to take it tomorrow as I'm at a party in the evening and I don't want to drink if i am pregnant! I randomly decided to do an OPK test this morning and got quite a strong line which is odd. I know you can get a positive result before your period but I'm not due for another week so I'm not sure what that means! Have you had any symptoms?

molemummy · 12/07/2019 19:51

I'm due on 19th too! Think I'm 8dpo. Have no symptoms at all but will try and hold out testing until next weekend! It's only the 1st month ttc so I'm not holding my breath.

@girlanonymous @Michellebops @Dia12 @Doll34 are this your 1st babies you're trying for? xx

eastview · 12/07/2019 19:54

I'm the 19th too! Stupidly tested this morning knowing it would be negative but I can't help it ! 🤦‍♀️ x

Doll34 · 12/07/2019 19:58

@molemummy yes my first baby and also my first cycle so I'm thinking it's very unlikely I could be although I've had real achy pains "down there" for the last few days which is very odd for me. Part of me thinks I'm just imagining things! I also think I'm 8 DPO. Perhaps I should hold off and wait a little longer although it's so tempting with the test being in the house!

Doll34 · 12/07/2019 20:00

@molemummy is it your first baby too?

Doll34 · 12/07/2019 20:01

@eastview how many DPO are you??

eastview · 12/07/2019 20:05

@Doll34 I'm 6/7 DPO (I think). Had a miscarriage and d&c in May and only had one period since (and was only 3/4 days long) so not entirely sure how long my cycle will be. Was taking ovulation tests and had almost positive last Thursday so think I ovulated either that morning or Friday ! Best of luck to everyone xx

molemummy · 12/07/2019 20:06

@Doll34 totally agree that the test being in the house is very tempting!

No it's my second. Have a 21month old already.

I am such a symptom spotter! Every little thing I think must mean I'm pregnant! 🙈

molemummy · 12/07/2019 20:08

@eastview sorry to hear about the mc. Thanks

I have been trying to track ovulation for the last few months with internet cheapies but I wasn't being successful. Tried the clear blue advanced this month and it was so much easier than trying to work out lines on a test strip!

Doll34 · 12/07/2019 20:11

@eastview I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Sending positive thoughts your way.

eastview · 12/07/2019 20:11

Thank you @molemummy ! If I'm not pregnant this month I think I'll start doing that too as I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out if the ovulation tests were positive or not. You can drive yourself crazy with this TTC process. So hard not to x

eastview · 12/07/2019 20:12

Thank you @Doll34 fingers crossed for us all 🤞❤️

Doll34 · 12/07/2019 20:12

@molemummy I have spent the last 5 days googling every single symptom I could have possibly felt! Did you have symptoms with your first?

Dia12 · 12/07/2019 20:21

We are trying to conceive our first. Had two failed ICSIs and then naturally conceived and had 2 chemical pregnancies in the last six months. The last chemical pregnancy was in May. So I'm just hoping I can catch another bfp before I have to resort to another ICSI.

My LP has previously been 9 days but more recently 10 days....no where near the 14 id like it to be.

Sorry to hear about your mc @eastview, fingers crossed for you Thanks

eastview · 12/07/2019 20:42

That's a lot to deal with @Dia12 I'm sorry that happened to you. And thank you. Fingers crossed for you this month. Will be my first too. It's so hard x

Doll34 · 12/07/2019 20:45

@Dia12 it sounds like you have been through a lot. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get your BFP this month. How long will you hold out before taking the test do you think?!

girlanonymous · 12/07/2019 20:47

2nd baby for me, I have a 3 year old already. And I impatiently took a Clearblue rapid detection test today knowing it would be negative and it was. Hoping it was just way too early.

Very sorry to hear about your miscarriage sending us all positive thoughts xx

molemummy · 12/07/2019 20:55

@Dia12 wow- that's an intense 6 months. Fingers crossed for your bfp this month.

@Doll34 haha! I have been known to do the same! With my first I got nausea about a week before the bfp. But only for 2 days randomly!

molemummy · 12/07/2019 20:56

@Dia12 out of interest, is the Ava bracelet any good and worth the price tag?

molemummy · 12/07/2019 20:58

@girlanonymous oh no you caved! 😂 any symptoms?

molemummy · 12/07/2019 20:59

@girlanonymous oh no you caved! 😂 any symptoms?

Dia12 · 12/07/2019 21:00

Thank you everyone.

I'm 5dpo today and if my temps continue to stay high I think I'll probably have had enough of myself the confidence to test on 8/9dpo.
I have a couple of IC hcg test sticks lying around at home but these won't be sensitive enough - will have to go out to buy FRER.

Are any of you having any symptoms? I have quite a bit of creamy cm but nothing much else.
