Hospital confirmed First Response giving false positive

This is just a word of warning for those using first response early pregnancy tests.

I had a faint but visible line on Sunday last week and Sunday just gone. As I had MC 6 weeks ago I rang EPU to check if left over HCG or a new pregnancy. I had bloods taken last night and my HCG is 0...not even a trace. The hospital said there's no way that the test I did the night before should have even had a faint line and I should report it as faulty (even if it was a chemical there would have been evidence of that)

Now I know they do pick up on early pregnancy but I've spent a lot of time over the last week obsessively googling images and scanning MN and there's so many line eyes and squinters on these frer tests.

I hope others are BFP for you all but I just wouldn't want anyone to get their hope up and for them to be shot down like me.

I've learnt my lesson to just wait to test using a 'normal' test instrad of trying to test early.

Again, I've not written this to share anyone or be negative, it's just yo hopefully make people aware.

Sorry for your experience, that must have messed with your head quite a bit.

I had something pretty similar a few months ago. I was getting faint but clearly visible lines on FRERs but bloods came back with an HCG level of 2.

I've also had false psatives on them on. I'm on the depo had a positive went to the doctors no trace of hcg also no bleeding. I honestly think amazon are selling fake ones because I had two positive frer from Amazon then I bought some from boots both negative then another two positives from the Amazon ones.

I had a positive with hcg level of 5 on a frer 8 weeks after a miscarriage.
