Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Oh you have a few days yet then. Be strong @Makingawish not to long left before you can test 🤞. It’s the longest fortnight though isn’t it!

@AllHopeAndNoResults it’s not every month... they say that you ovulate on different sides each month (obviously nothing is clockwork) but that’s the general rule. So I think when I ovulate on my right side that is when I have the problems. But hopefully not this month as I’ll be away 🤞.

So my smep will hopefully be starting tomorrow! I’ll start opks from day 10 I think.

If you’ve ovulated I think you can expect (I’d she comes) af no more than 15ish days after or as soon as 11 I think. So it looks like it’s helped shorten your cycle at least?

@Carley321 well it’s exciting that you are starting tomorrow. Are you using anything else? Preseed?

@Makingawish on that note partner lol. Bit of an icky question but when you’ve used preseed the night before does any of it drop out the next day? I’m trying to figure out if it’s Cm or leaking lube 😂😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults I think a bit did the first time but then I put it a bit further in and it didn't seem to after that 😄

@Carley321 this TWW has actually felt the longest! I think I'm going to bite the bullet and use my FRER on Friday then when it's a BFN, I have the weekend to get over it.

@Makingawish nothing we can say can make you do otherwise but I think if you you should wait a few more days because at least it will be a proper result.

Ok tmi (again!) but did anyone get a bit of an odour after dtd so much. I had bv a few weeks back and took some strong antibiotics to clear it. It went away but the last few days after dtd I have a fishy smell!!! I’m sure it’s bv again and it’s really p me off!! I don’t know if it’s happened for anyone else?
I seem to get bv a lot and when I went for my swabs last week the nurse said about not using soap down there etc and I haven’t been doing these things. Could regular sex be causing this? No stds as we are in a long term relationship and we’ve both been tested anyway when we Started TTC. Argh I’m at my wits end with it

@AllHopeAndNoResults I'm 100% not using a FRER until Friday at least, I'm just being impatient and ranting 🙈

I've not noticed that in myself but I've never had so much as BV or thrush anyway. If you're susceptible to it though then I can imagine how DTD an increased amount could easily trigger it as it's a very sensitive area!

@Makingawish it’s only a couple of days away. How are you feeling about it? I’ve got my fingers crossed 🤞

I’ve got my day 21 bloods tomorrow so while I’m there I’ll see if I can get antibiotics again 🙄 I’ve read up that bv can affect fertility 😭😭 it’s just one thing after another. I think I might just give up now tbh!

@AllHopeAndNoResults one minute I feel positive and the next not so much! I'll be so deflated if using CB OPK's, following SMEP AND using preseed hasn't sealed the deal for us though 🙁

Stop reading! 😄 maybe you just didn't fully get rid of it last time and it's flared up again? Will your bloods tomorrow confirm you've ovulated?

@Makingawish I know what you mean and I wish I could make you feel better but I feel the same today only thing I can say is keep your faith it’s the first SMEP cycle.

I will stop 😂 my bloods will tell me yes but I got my peak yesterday didn’t I so not sure it will show

@AllHopeAndNoResults we pretty much followed SMEP last month though with DTD throughout my whole fertile period so we'll just see.

I'm hopefully you'll get some results to confirm you've ovulated and then you know for sure it tied in to that blazing OPK.

We NEED at least another BFP here this month.

@Makingawish SMEP usually happens within 3 months, or so I’ve seen on threads etc so just bare that in mind!

Tbh I just don’t want to think about it no more it’s driving me loopy and I’m constantly googling something or other. I’m dtd tonight and then I’ll officially be 1dpo tomorrow and I’m already acting like I’m in the TWW 😂😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults I've read TONS of reviews saying SMEP has worked first go so maybe that's got into my head. It's very mentally consuming though isn't it?!

Try and just enjoy tonight's DTD because you've likely ovulated now anyway so I'd say this one and Thursdays will be more 'good luck' ones. I've just realised that's the exact same pattern we used this month haha

@Makingawish I know same! I’ve read it happen first time for loads of people but also that it can take 3 try’s. I also read preseed and Agnus Castus worked first time so I got myself all geared up now it’s doubtful.

That’s funny it’s the same days. Hopefully we get a BFP on the same day (obviously 2 weeks apart)

I just typed on YouTube conception tarot spread. The cards I picked said I won’t conceive in 2019 so I guess I’m out! 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😂 the bad thing is that it’s probably pretty accurate so I believe it but if it said I would conceive I wouldn’t believe it at all and say it’s all a scam 😂😂 God what are like? If you do have a look tell me your result even if it’s jusst for laughs 😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults yes I have preseed but I don’t know when I should start using it, should I use it closer to fertile week or just start right away? @Makingawish I may as well get you involved in this preseed question as you two seem to be the preseed buddies 😊 🤣

I don’t suffer with it either @Hope but I have read quite a lot in the past and on other threads about it being quite common. Also read you shouldn’t wait all night to have a wee after dtd (but not straight away either) But it’s all guessing I suppose. I’ve had the something seeming to fall back out the day after dtd though (and I haven’t used preseed yet) so Iv always wondered weather that’s DPs sperm escaping or CM 🤦‍♀️ (TMI)

@Makingawish aw not long now. Just a few days. Good plan. The weekend is always a good time to find a positive outlook and make a plan for next time round 😉

@Carley321 I started using preseed on CD8 when we started SMEP purely because I didn't know quite when I'd ovulate so didn't want to miss it. I figured it would help it hold the little swimmers in place so no harm using it from the start.

@Makingawish I cannot believe that people get away with it.

It is very dangerous! I haven’t been to one to get a reading but a few years back I worked in a pub and they had a psychic night. I am on the edge with being a believer and thinking it’s all faff! Should we go separately and report back? 😂

@Carley321 I used it once in the run up and then on my fertile days. I will use it tonight as well. I think it just takes getting used to using it in your routine.

Thank you for tagging me @Carley321 and @AllHopeAndNoResults :) I'm OK, today is officially my af due date (ignoring that I ovulated early) and af has stayed away, making me 4+1 today. BUT I'm incredibly anxious, I guess that's to be expected after a miscarriage. Been feeling very sore across my tummy. Called the epu today and they're going to scan me around 6 weeks, so feel a bit better about that.

How's things with you guys?

@OP I imagine all the DTD won't help with any other problems down there. Too much friction! I'm not sure it would interfere with your fertility too much so try not to worry. At least your DTD marathon is almost over for this month.

@Makingawish I hope you get your bfp this month! It's hard to see AF when you've done everything right. Just now I'm going to commit to 2 more cycles of smep and try to be really positive about that. Hopefully I'll get BFP with the next two... I read even with best opportunity there's only a 30% chance of conception. Not wanting to sound negative but there doesn't need to be a reason for BFN even if everything went to plan.

@Carley321 I'm sorry I can't remember much about what you've tried before. Is this your 1st mobth doing smep? Are your cycles usually regular?

Hello @VenusStarr! Sorry you're feeling anxious, totally understandable. Fingers crossed for you xx. I'm going to keep going with smep for another 2 cycles then see where we are (Hopefully up the duff...!)

@AllHopeAndNoResults I know people who have been and have got scarily accurate predictions/comments. I'd believe if it came true and think it was a faff if not 😂 I'm clearly very fickle!

@Makingawish haha! I know how you mean but I’m not sure it’s healthy to believe it 😂 I once went to a palm reader who said all the right things about my past but nothing of the future came true so I think it’s all hit and miss. Although it doesn’t stop me searching for magical clues 😂
