As the title said on the 9th June I started to miscarriage at nearly 8 wks. Just 4 weeks later I got my BFP. A mixture of emotions but I’m beyond grateful cannot believe it. Hoping this baby sticks x

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 06/07/2019 14:32

Congratulations!! I was in the same boat last year and my DD is 6 weeks old now!!

Doris19 · 10/07/2019 16:45

Congratulations OP! Lovely news you must be so thrilled but I'm sure it comes with fear too.
This gives me hope, I'm currently in the TWW after a miscarriage at 7 weeks in June too. Thanks for sharing! X

Ginmonkey84 · 10/07/2019 19:11

@Doris19 thank you, yes it definitely does but try to remind myself to be so grateful for getting here in the first place. Feel terrified and blessed all at the same time. I hope you get your rainbow ❤️ and honestly wish you all the best, anything is possible x

Don't want to burst your bubble, have you had confirmation that this is a new pregnancy?

I'm only asking as I had 8 weeks of positive tests following a miscarriage and it was old hcg in my body.

I was gutted.

I really hope it's not the same and this one is a sticky bean.

Bobbi31 · 10/07/2019 19:50

As @Michellebops said OP did you use the same brand of test to check for a negative to show your HCG levels had gone back down?

I'm so sorry you have been through a miscarriage, I have just had a horrible few days after using first response tests 6 weeks after my miscarriage but they were false positives, a blood test 24 hrs later shown 0hcg. Really upsetting.

I really hope yours is your BFP.

Ginmonkey84 · 10/07/2019 20:26

Hi ladies yes I’ve confirmed with a repeat blood test and tested out my hcg my last positive test was on the 22nd June had bloods drawn on the 24th and it was 0.

My first result on Monday was 70.2 should get my next result tomorrow afternoon expecting it to be much higher as I got my 2-3 on a digital today and a very strong FRER yesterday.

First photo is of my negative test in June

Next are from yesterday and today x

Wonderful! This gives me hope. I had a D&C last Monday for a MMC at 9 weeks. I have started bleeding today red blood after not bleeding for days, hoping it's my period. POAS and it was a squinter so I'm hoping we can get going soon.

Big congratulations Smile

Ginmonkey84 · 10/07/2019 20:30

Trying to upload my photos but having issues. Will keep trying x

So the bottom test was my last one in June. Digital from today, and FRER from last night. I DTD that night I got my negative test, and little did I know I had conceived when I got my bloods drawn. I was tracking my ovulation and I seemed to have ovulated as soon as my levels went back to normal. I feel truly blessed and equally terrified x

@nespressowoo I’m so so sorry it’s a horrible thing to be going through. Although I have to say after a week I don’t think it would be your period?

But then again who knows? Is that normal after a D&C mine was natural so I was told 4-6 weeks.

But I wouldn’t wait and track your ovulation if you do that as soon as your bleeding stops, we didn’t wait. But it all depends emotionally were your at I suppose, for me I couldn’t think of anything else and felt emotionally prepared to keep going. I was told to try not to get pregnant by the midwife for dating purposes and was in a panic when I saw my GP and thought I would get told off. But it was the opposite he said during the first ovulation your super fertile and there is absolutely no medical reason why we should have waited. We have fertility issues so I’m glad we didn’t hang around x

That's great news. I hope you don't think I was trying to bring a downer on things. A million congratulations Smile

Ginmonkey84 · 10/07/2019 20:55

@Bobbi31 no not at all. It definitely is something to be aware of especially if someone comes along and reads this and they are in that situation and are unsure. Unfortunately this is my 4th loss so I’m well versed in it. Thankfully the hcg dropped quickly this time but I have had other times were I was still showing positive for 3 weeks after so I am a bit of an addict testing it out as I’ve gotten my hopes up before x

Well that certainly looks good @Ginmonkey84 !! Will be thinking of you for your next blood test.

Tbh, the other stories are also helpful as I had not actually realised that the old hcg could hang around that long. If I do get a bfp this month I will make sure to get blood tests to confirm as well in that case!

Ginmonkey84 · 10/07/2019 21:34

@Doris19 did the hospital not ask you you to contact them when you got a negative test? I thought that was norm

Yes definitely take a test and make sure your negative so you can be sure it’s not left over hcg depending on high your levels were at the time of your miscarriage it can take quite some time for it to drop. Mine had dropped from over 20000 at 7+2 when I first had spotting to 3900 on the day of my miscarriage at 7+6 so pretty rapid. But it took another 12 days to go completely negative x

Will update hopefully tomorrow with my new blood test result. I’m hoping it’s good but my digital is giving me some comfort as the minimum threshold is 150 and usually you need to be a good bit above to actually pull the 2-3 x

OP posts:
Ginmonkey84 · 10/07/2019 21:36

But definitely anytime after miscarriage they should be doing a blood test to confirm x

Oh @Ginmonkey84 I'm so pleased. As I said I didn't want to burst your bubble as it had for me.

I wish you well and high levels tomorrow.

Doris19 · 11/07/2019 08:28

@Ginmonkey84 no they didn't! Argh! I have a gp appointment on Monday for a blood test as I'm also hypothyroid, so I'll ask them then what to do I guess.

nespressowoo · 11/07/2019 20:50

@Ginmonkey84 the bleeding has since stopped. I don't know what it is. I'm still getting positive tests. We aren't going to wait, just the two weeks they advise following surgery.

Big congratulations Smile

Ginmonkey84 · 19/07/2019 10:36

Hi ladies just thought I’d pop in and update. Got my second blood test results back and they went up to 344 in 72hrs from 70. So doubling rate of every 31hrs so pretty happy with that! Got my 3+ on my digital on Tuesday that I didn’t see with my miscarriage and an amazing FRER, although it doesn’t mean very much it’s made me a little bit more relaxed. X
