Could I be pregnant?

Hi all just wondering if anyone could help - I am currently 3 weeks late for my period which means I've officially missed it - I did a clear blur pregnancy test a week ago when I was 2 weeks late and it came back negative however still no period, my breasts have gotten a lot heavier and appear to be a bit more veiny that what I realised before and my nipples (specifically my right one) has been tingling / stinging, I got a few sharp pains around my womb when my period would have been due however it's still not here and I'm constantly bloated all the time, urinating and using the toilet for a number 2 a lot more than usual as I'm usually very constipated- but surely a test at 2 weeks would have given me a positive if I was? Just looking for any info that could help to see what the chances of me being pregnant are.
Many thanks
Zara xx

Well your symptoms would certainly indicate that you are! Bloating was my first symptom although I knew early on so I was waiting for the symptoms. I also got slight period twinge when I was due on, so thought I was coming on, but took a test anyway and said I was pregnant.
Try another few tests. I swear by clear blue usually, and detected both mine within a couple of days of my period, however i doubt it’s an exact science. If still negative I would see your dr who might be able to do a blood test. You can have a false negative but not a false positive, so could be a chance you are pregnant X

Certainly sounds like you could be but so hard when it's unclear. I always used frers and found them reliable. I agree maybe see a doctor as they'll be able to test x

When you say the test was negative....do you mean, absolutely no second line at all, or a very very feint line?

zaralouise · 06/07/2019 09:13

Absolutely no line at all

Was it a blue dye test? They are notoriously unreliable. Get a pink dye, preferably a first response

Abi58 · 06/07/2019 09:17

Is there anything that could cause it to be late? Have you been more stressed/ill /even travelled? Recently stopped birth control?

zaralouise · 06/07/2019 10:48

It was a blue dye yeah was a clear blue rapid detection I used - and I had what could've been food poisoning a couple of days before my period was due which lasted a day or 2 but that's it, my breasts normally start to become really tense about a week before my period is due and ill get cramps that's how I can tell when my period is coming but I didnt get that at all this time round and that was supposed to happen before I got a bit sick so x

Probably the food poisoning then that has delayed your period. How late are you now? Are your periods usually very regular? Mine were all over the place a few years ago but have calmed since I had my daughter. Although I’m 9 months pregnant now haha 😂
I do know that both pregnancies I’ve detected being pregnant pretty much when I was due on. Showing 1-2 weeks pregnant.
So if you are more than 3 weeks late and no positive test I’d go the dr’s or just assume it’s a late month due to the food poisoning. X

@Blondiejay24 I'm 3 weeks late for my period as of now, and my periods have been regular for just over 6 months now since I've been taking iron tablets for my anaemia so this is the first period I've missed in over half a year I'm pretty sure so its quite weird for me now, at most I'll be a couple days late if that I'm normally on time every month and it finishes on time every month so xx

Maybe the iron tablets haven’t worked if you’ve had food poisoning. They will have been flushed out the system and could have effected things a little. I know my niece is on them for anemia and still doesn’t have regular periods every month. I wouldn’t worry too much anyway. What will be will be!
