Hi, I found it useful last cycle to have some ladies to chat to throughout the month. A little about me:

Age- 32
TTC- no. 1
Cycle no. 3
CD 6

I stopped the pill in March and have had long cycles so far. Flo has my predicted ovulation as 30th july! I hope it will come sooner but would love to have some people to chat to whilst I'm waiting!

@Skyla01 May be worth jumping on the July bus 2 thread everyone is really supportive x

tinyole · 04/07/2019 14:01

Hi @Skyla01

I'll join you! I looked at the other groups and found it overwhelming so many people.

A bit about me:
34
TTC 1st child
3 cycles
CD18

I've been using natural cycles but I seem to be terrible at taking my BBT either that or my temperatures are just erratic so just ordered an Ava watch

Skyla01 · 04/07/2019 18:08

Hi @tinyole is natural cycles an app? I think it can be tricky getting the hang of taking temps. I haven't tried it myself though- I'm not a good sleeper so not sure it will work for me. I've heard good things about the ava watch! And I think that takes your temp too? Do you think you've been able to tell when you're ovulating accurately? I was very confused last month with what was happening so going to try using opk this month to help.

@mrssunshinexxx thanks, I might do. I'm also looking out for an August bus though as my next AF isn't due until mid August.

Hi @Skyla01 I'm TTC Flo says my predicted day of Ov is 20th July so really similar to you xx

Skyla01 · 04/07/2019 19:59

Hi @embaby how long have you been trying for? Are you using anything to track ovulation? It feels like I've got a long time to wait for ov! But my cycles are still settling down after stopping the pill so I'm hoping this cycle will be shorter again and I'll ovulate sooner than predicted. Only cycle 3 for us so early days but feeling optimistic as my cycles are getting shorter.

embaby · 04/07/2019 20:25

@Skyla01 this is our 3rd month of trying. AF was 5 days late this month which got our hopes up but seems there was no particular reason? Been pretty regular give or take a couple of days for ages before this. Currently just tracking on Flo but going to use ovulation tests this month. Also looking into things like primrose oil as I've heard good things but it's all a bit confusing really xx

Skyla01 · 04/07/2019 20:55

@embaby that's really annoying to be 5 days late, no wonder you got your hopes up! Have you been on contraception recently? Sometimes that can muck things up. Last cycle I didn't even know when to expect AF, hence reason for trying opks this cycle. Do you know which type you're going to use? I haven't heard about using evening primrose oil. Do you know how it works?

OP posts:
embaby · 04/07/2019 21:30

No I've been off contraception for a long time trying to get my cycles regular. I have no idea what I'm going to use yet, have you got any recommendations? Not really sure about primrose oil just heard people mention it. I need to do some research 🤓

tinyole · 04/07/2019 21:44

@Skyla01 yes natural cycles is an app recording BBT. Mine has totally been all over the shop which is why I decided to go for the Ava. I think it does record your temperature as well and all reviews I see says it gets ovulation accurately so I'm so excited to see how it does.

How are you going about it?

Skyla01 · 04/07/2019 21:48

I guess you just had a naturally long cycle randomly. Not what you want when ttc and waiting for AF! Hope you'll be back to normal this month.

I've just ordered some opk for the first time. I think the main difference is between cheap ones (can get them online e.g. onestep) and pricey ones (like clearblue digital). The clearblue ones are meant to be a bit easier to use and interpret. But there is a big price difference. Lots of people use the cheapie ones without issues. This cycle I'm going to try clearblue digital, but won't be making it a regular purchase. My cycles are still quick long & irregular just now so feel like I need a bit of help to detect ovulation.

Skyla01 · 04/07/2019 21:52

@tinyole you'll need to let us know how you get on with it. Hope it arrives soon!

I'm hoping using opk will help me this month. Last cycle I wasn't at all sure when i was about to ovulate. And because it was a long cycle it was hard to keep up DTD for over a month. Plan this cycle is to concentrate efforts a bit more! Think we'll still try and DTD every third day for a few weeks anyway, and get busy more often once I get a positive opk.

OP posts:
tinyole · 04/07/2019 22:09

@Skyla01 yeah we did the same and spread our efforts over too wide an area so we'll concentrate on the time after a positive ovulation test but I'm hoping Ava will help!

Keeping fingers crossed for us all for baby dusk and bfp!!! I love looking at others positive test to help encourage me and send out good vibes that it's going to happen for me

Yvonne1988 · 04/07/2019 22:39

@Skyla01 I'm looking for people to talk to

Trying for my 2nd. This is the first month.
Came off my pill on the 14th June. Starting to wonder if I am already pregnant. Or if all the things I'm feeling are just my body being normal
I don't know when I'm due my period really. Hope to know for definite before I go away next week.

tinyole · 05/07/2019 09:29

Ahhhhh I don't know if I'm crazy to hope but I'm 7DPO and I've had a massive headache last few days and nausea today. I often get nausea in the morning if I'm dehydrated but usually I have a drink and it goes but I've had 1L of water and still feel terrible and headache still there. Going to take an early test at lunch eeeeek fingers crossed 🤞🏾

Skyla01 · 05/07/2019 18:26

@tinyole did you test? How did you get on? I think 7dpo might be too early even for a very sensitive test?

Hi @Yvonne1988. Did you have any symptoms early on with your last pregnancy? I had all sorts of symptoms when I first came off the pill. Esp cramps & nausea. Didn't mean anything for me- but hopefully you might already have fallen pregnant! Are you going to try a test?

OP posts:
Yvonne1988 · 05/07/2019 18:31

@skyla01 yeh back then it was 9 years ago... It was literally days and I just knew I was cramping sore boobs tired and hungry. Within the week of starting. So I'm feeling that and more. I did a test this morning it was negative. So maybe it is all just coming off the pill stuff. But I didn't think I'd still be cramping now 3 weeks later. And last few days iv been gettimg little pinching feeling in my uterus area. Oh who knows lol it's frustrating considering the first time I didn't even try!

tinyole · 05/07/2019 18:44

@Skyla01 yes tested and it was a BFN. I'm still feeling horrible and my lunch almost came back up so I'm still hopeful. At the back of my mind I'm also thinking I may just be unwell as my whole body aches too so right now it's either the flu or a baby. Will test again next Friday. Definitely to early either way!

Looking for cycle buddies!
Skyla01 · 05/07/2019 18:55

@Yvonne1988 I had cramps for a good few weeks coming off the pill. I seem to get a lot more now during my cycle too. Not sure if the pill helped dampen everything down, or I just didn't pay attention to all these symptoms as much!

@tinyole I think it's a good idea to leave a gap before testing again. Hopefully with another week past you should be able to get a positive result. I've learnt not to test early but just wait for AF. Last cycle I had quite a bit of nausea. Tested and got BFN, with AF the next day so I think my nausea was part of pms. Annoying that all these hormonal symptoms feel the same for pregnancy and af!

OP posts:
Yvonne1988 · 05/07/2019 18:58

I have not got cramps for like a day or so on the pill. Usually the first day of the break

Yvonne1988 · 05/07/2019 19:06

Only got cramps that's meant to say

mrssunshinexxx · 05/07/2019 19:37

@Skyla01 sure there will be an August bus thread in a week or so x

I'm cd 8 due to o on 16th planning to dtd every other day from cd10 right through to 10 days after predicted ovulation

I know if it doesn't happen for us this month I aren't going to take it well when af came last month I sobbed all day it's so tough x

Skyla01 · 05/07/2019 19:53

@mrssunshinexxx think I'll be hopping on that bus. What cycle are you on? I think because I'm still working out cycles etc after the pill I feel ok about ttc. Still feels like early days so haven't been too disappointed so far. I'm not sure how long I'll be feeling like this for though. At the moment it still feels like an unobtainable dream to be pregnant, not sure if I'll ever get there.

OP posts:
mrssunshinexxx · 05/07/2019 20:17

@Skyla01 I'm on cycle 4 which i know is still early days in the scheme of things but I was so naive to think it would happen cycle 1

Hopefully we both get the good news sooner rather than later

tinyole · 05/07/2019 21:28

@Skyla01 yes I've definitely learnt my lesson won't be testing again till probably next weekend. I've never had nausea with AF before so I'll be really peeves if it's that. How are you getting on in your efforts

@mrssunshinexxx there are no words to really make this journey by easier but we're all here with you and believing it's going to happen for you. And yeah I hope it's definitely sooner rather than later. Big cyber hug! Xx

tinyole · 05/07/2019 21:32

@Yvonne1988 where are you off to next week? If you're not already pregnant might be the right environment to make it happen! Are you charting at all? I'm weirdly obsessed at looking at my charts as if I'm going to mystically figure it out 😂
