TTC after miscarriage (LH surge, line eyes please)

I had a complete miscarriage on 8 June. Bleeding started 6 June. Scan on 10 June confirmed complete miscarriage.
I bled for a week, and had positive OPKs on 27 and 28 June followed by a negative OPK the next day. I also had strong cramps on the right side on 28 so fairly sure I ovulated then. (The previous MC was an egg from the left so that makes sense I think).

I took a pregnancy test on a whim today and I think it shows a faint line?

Could I have ovulated so soon? Would it have implanted already? Can I really be pregnant again so soon? Or am I just dreaming this up and it’s all just leftover hormones from the MC?

I know the simplest thing is to take another test with FMU tomorrow or in a few days and see if the line gets stronger but any advice / anecdotes / solidarity would be most welcome while I wait.

It's highly likely the positive pregnanacy test is only positive from your previous pregnancy. I'm sorry for your loss. Taking a test in another week or so would be your best bet.

I agree with squiff and it's highly likely to be leftover hcg, however if you're able to, phone your gp or epu in the morning and explain they should be able to arrange a beta hcg blood test which will check the levels and recheck in a couple of days for increase or decrease and will confirm if a new pregnancy.

It does happen to some people without having a period

Good luck❤️

@Bisquick I'm sorry for your loss. Did you get a negative test after your miscarriage? My cycle went back to normal straight away so that's good news you may have already ovulated.

I'm struggling to see the second line, it's possible to be residual hcg. But, people do get pregnant straight away with no period. Get a pink dye test though as blue ones are harder to read. Maybe test again in a few days or next week.

Best wishes x

Thank you. I didn't test after the miscarriage - so not sure if HCG levels actually went down to zero. I know it can take 4-6 weeks and I'm only 4 weeks out at the moment.

I did do a test this morning that was absolutely clearly negative. Which is good in a way, because the dates would just not line up at all otherwise. Either way my HCG level right now is then zero (one hopes), and will hopefully start to rise if implantation occurs. Had some mild twinges yesterday, so keeping my fingers crossed. Will lay off testing now for another week or so and then see what happens.

I'm feeling strangely numb about the MC. It was early days although I did get to see the twinkling foetus and heartbeat on the scan. What was heartbreaking was seeing the heartbeat still going strong after the bleeding started. Sigh.. wasn't meant to be. Thing is I lost a baby to a stillbirth at 37 weeks a few years ago. Not that one can rank grief, but just feeling numb to this early pain of the MC. Anyway, rambling now. I'll wait a few weeks, and in the meantime my rainbow baby (or rather rainbow toddler at this point) is keeping me busy.
