Anyone here fall pregnant on the pill? If so why is it so hard falling pregnant when your no longer taking it 🤔

I have friends who fell pregnant whilst on birth control, even though you’re not meant to ovulate, I stopped the pill a few months ago and nothing.. so confusing!
Just wondered what everyone else’s situations were...

DH and I were talking about this last night. I think it's so quick because those people aren't trying. They wouldn't know if they'd taken the pill incorrectly for the last two years but only fell pregnant this month. When you're actively TTC you're counting every single cycle. I say this as someone who has been TTC for 7+ years.

I wasn’t TTC and had come off the pill for a month just to have a normal period and hated how I felt while on that particular pill. Was planning on going on another but had fallen pregnant straightaway.
After asking had I planned the pregnancy which I hadn’t my doctor was very surprised it happened that fast

Years ago (my mother's generation) were actively told to go on the pill for a couple of months and then come off it to conceive quicker - the thinking being that it actually
Made you temporarily very fertile - but it's a small window of opportunity

I think that why people fall pregnant so easily when the pill fails or they mess it up

Some people say that it took them years after being on the pill then one person can miss a couple and happen to get pregnant! Thanks for the reply! X

I think @ComeTheFuck0nBridget has it, also with the lack of stress from actually TTC and thinking about TTC and being anxious all the time. Same with one night stands I suppose
